I opened my Etsy Shop in order to have a business of my own where I could share my handmade crochet items with others. There are many people who are allergic to wool and the crochet items available to them are limited. Since I'm allergic to wool, I do not use any type of wool materials in my crochet projects in order to provide more choices for people who suffer from wool allergies. Lately, I've started using recycled t-shirt yarn and recycled sari silk yarn to make scarves, handbags, etc.

My home-based business is located in Silver Spring, Maryland. I don't really have one "designated space" where I work on my items. In other words, my workspace is "Everywhere". When I'm deciding what to make, I try to envision what the finished product would look like before actually making a stitch. Sometimes, I'll make a rough sketch to help me decide what colors I'm going to use and what supplies I'll need to make my dream a reality. I get inspired by colors associated with the changing seasons or sometimes by seeing a special color of yarn.

I"ve been crocheting a lot of jewelry lately. I enjoy using unconventional materials to make my jewelry, i.e. leather, hemp, wire, beads, ribbon, etc. I become very excited when I can create a crochet piece like a bracelet using leather and beads or wire and beads. I'm constantly challenging myself to make new and unusual pieces that appeal to people who want to stand out in the crowd.
