5 out of 5 starsThis knife is extremely well made! Emiliano put an insane edge on the blade, and it slices and chops flawlessly. The handle complements the hand very well and allows for a very comfortable use. With the blade being water quenched, it shows very beautiful textures in the steel. I would highly recommend anyone to his work. Truly a talented smith !

5 out of 5 starsExcellent work. The blade of the seax has been forged well. The pattern welded blade is beautiful and very sharp. The fit and finish of the handle is very well done.

Bloomery iron, made in a smelting furnace from iron ore collected from the earth.
-
It is folded between 6 and 12 times depending on what it will become, and then hardened in water.
-
Once polished, the character of the steel can be seen. The folding and manipulation of the material is now on display.

A handle and sheath are crafted to compliment the blade, and the piece is finished.
I'm a modern bladesmith working in ancient traditions.
I started making knives in 2014, and have focused heavily on historical styles of blade making since then. I have primarily studied Viking Age pattern welding and Japanese metalworking, using my expertise of both to create authentic pieces that would not be out of place throughout history. I often create my own steel to come even closer to the historic pieces my work is based on. I see my bladesmithing as an opportunity to study and explore ancient artifacts, and to try and understand them and the way they were made.

Care instructions
Carbon steels should be wiped down and oiled after use. Use dish soap and a soft rag to remove any food or juices. Natural patina will form as a result of use. These knives should never be put in a dish washer, as it will damage the edge and the handle material. All cleaning and maintenance should be done by hand. You can contact me about resharpening or any issues related to the steel.
Gift wrapping and packaging
I've made many cooking knives as wedding gifts. If you'd like to have a knife sent as a gift, let me know and we will sort it out together.
