Beautiful gem! Actually, I can better describe it as a gorgeous piece of art that signifies my love with my partner in crime and husband. I love the rustic and genuine look on this beautiful ring named Tuesday), and couldn't have been more supported by the happy and beautiful artist behind this shop. She is quick to answer all your questions and for me, it made the experience unique and genuine. Tuesday came in a beautiful crafted little wooden ring box, shipped with care and love (beautifully packaged cardboard box). The experience, including opening the box traveling all the way from Hawaii can only be described as magical and special.

Lisa's artistry and communication are superb. She indulged my every question and multiple photo requests with patience and graciousness. I first learned of Sunday Owl when food blogger Molly Yeh praised Lisa and her gorgeous rings. I instantly knew my engagement ring would be from Sunday Owl. After months of searching the market, I never found a close second. Katya is perfect; she is a ring of a lifetime from a wonderfully skilled, kind, and ethical artisan.
Earthy | Simple
Growing up I've always loved rings. There's something so simple about a band on your finger that makes your heart smile. I have a collection of rings, some skinny, some giant cocktail rings, some are fancy, some are made of plastic, some are even broken, but as I look at each one I remember a moment in my life.
I was drawn to the history behind lost wax casting and rose cut stones, a time where things were simply made, when the world moved just a little bit slower.
When choosing gemstones, I think of my dachshund. He has one blue eye, one brown eye, is spotted all over and coos like a bird, he's odd, I immediately fell in love. I feel the same about stones, each one has it's own special markings which tell their story, the journey they've been through. I love oddballs, I'm a bit of an odd bird myself.
Once the stone is chosen, I begin by sculpting a home for it out of wax. I then make a plaster mold of the wax ring and allow it to set. The mold now goes into my kiln for many hours during which the wax is melted out. Next I melt the gold with my torch and spin it into the mold using a centrifugal casting machine. It then gets quenched in water, there is a mini explosion as the plaster mold is destroyed. My heart smiles as I dig to the bottom of the quench bucket and find your little gold sculpture.
Even the simple bands are individually made as I don't have rubber molds. At one time I decided it would be smarter to have these molds so I bought a rubber wax mold vulcanizer and a wax injector. I made many molds and it seemed like it took forever to cut them all open. I injected them with wax and had lots of rings all at once. They looked fine but I didn't like them, they felt cold like they were from a factory. I threw all of my rubber molds in the trash and decided that I would make each ring one at a time.

Hello. I'm Lisa.
I grew up in an environmentally conscious household, I keep that in mind and do my best with my business. I use recycled gold and when possible will choose natural green products over chemicals.
I believe in karma and energy. Metals, gemstones and diamonds carry energy. I purchase my stones from people who have pledged to follow the Kimberley process. I then cleanse the stones in the ocean or the dirt. I want my art to be filled with LOVE and peacefulness △. My gold is from Hoover and Strong, they use recycled metal and do their best to protect the environment.
I love my Etsy shop. Please message me if you have any questions. Thank you for your visit.
