I gave this as a gift to my father and his wife for their cabin on the lake. They loved it! It’s great quality and a very unique gift!

My second experience working with Tom on a custom map was just as great as the first—beautiful craftsmanship and very responsive during the design process to make sure every detail was just right. Gave it as a gift and they were absolutely floored!

It was the perfect gift! Arrived earlier than expected. Great packaging. The seller was easy to talk to.
The name “Sundling Road” is paying homage to the Sundling Rd. in northern WI - the road named after my great grandfather, Axel, who came over from Sweden in the early 1900s and settled in Winter, WI in 1918. At the end of what became "Sundling Rd." he built a homestead and a family. One of his lasting legacies was a hand built cabin on that property, which still stands today and I visit as often as I can.
With Sundling Road, I am striving to continue his legacy while at the same time creating my own. While my great grandfather's work was done all using early 20th century hand tools, I have the advantage of using large format CNC and laser cutters, along with many other power tools to boot. That said, you will still find me using many of the same tools he used so many years ago with various projects.
While I am able to make all types of signs and furniture, I had chosen to focus my energy solely on making custom lake maps. I've truly enjoyed making over 250 of these maps so far of lakes all across the world.
Recently due to the cost and availability of lumber, specifically the Baltic birch I used for making my maps, I decided to venture into new mediums and put my wooden lake map making on hold.
You will now see other items in my shop where I will remain focused on customized lake maps and other map related art.
Thank you for visiting my Etsy shop, I do hope you enjoy my items as much as I have enjoyed designing and making them.
