Announcement   Free domestic shipping with 3 or more items! Use code 3SHIPFREE!

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments or requests. If you see something you like but it isn't quite what you want, I'm more than happy to create something custom made just for you at your request.

Original paintings, prints, hand sculpted jewelry and animal figurines, objects from nature, sculpture, ceramics, vintage items from New Zealand, and a few oddball items here and there! I love to experiment and try new things, so there's always something different here. Lots of variety!

All the natural materials (such as lichens, mosses, and branches) that I use in assemblages & terrariums are taken from the forest floor after they are blown down naturally from the treetops. I do not harm the landscape to obtain them and I do not harvest them in mass quantities. Each piece is assembled with thought and care. I use upcycled or reclaimed materials whenever I can; it's both economical and earth-friendly!

About

Revealing the elegant secrets of the natural world

The shapes, colors, and stories of the natural world are my inspiration. Each species of tree, bird, mammal, fungus--flora or fauna-- has its own individual traits and natural history that distinguish it from its fellows. For myself, discovering and learning these endlessly myriad secrets is empowering and a balm to the soul. Although we often forget it, we are inextricably a part of nature just as much as the trees and the chipmunks are. I want to show others the underlying complexities and elegance of the natural world.

For a long time, art has just been something that I do. I do it to pass the time, to spread an impression, to make something new, to express something, to leave a mark. Painting, sculpting, making-- whatever it is I'm doing, I do it because it's fun.

My bedroom is my studio. I paint, sculpt, fold, sew, and assemble myriad things at one table. Just outside is 45 acres of woods and fields where I often wander, in summer and winter, to find inspiration and materials straight from the source.
I keep a small flock of cheeky little chickens, who provide a steady supply of eggs, feathers, and unnecessary noise. They're good company; always willing to chat and accept goodies, as well as the occasional cuddle. I raise them with care to ensure a friendly, happy, harmonious flock.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
Payment
Please try to pay at the time of purchase. If payment is not received within 3 days, your order will be canceled and returned to the storefront. I accept Paypal and credit card payments through Etsy!
Shipping
In most cases, I am able to ship out items 1-2 days after I receive payment.

Prints and original art are protected with a plastic envelope and a rigid backing to prevent bends, creases, or breakage. Sculptures, jewelry and other hard goods are well cushioned in bubble wrap. Soft items generally become their own padding.

For special shipping instructions, go ahead and contact me! I can wrap gifts and include personalized notes.
Refunds and Exchanges
If you are unsatisfied with your purchase or in the event that it arrives with damage, please contact me right away via Etsy!

I am a very very small operation, so as much as I would like to be the perfect customer service representative, I cannot afford to refund lightly. However, I will try my best to make things right.
Additional policies and FAQs
My original paintings are priced according to a base materials cost and an hourly rate depending on the detail level and therefore amount of time it takes to complete the piece.

You may notice that some original pieces are inexplicably higher priced than their fellows. Sometimes I get attached to my work, and though I'd love to be able to hold on to every one of my paintings forever, I do need the money from their sale. These pieces that I become extra fond of will be listed with a higher fee-- the amount it takes to pry it from my hands :)

I am open to commissions, whether it is a painting, piece of jewelry, sculpture, or almost anything you might like. Contact me or use the "Request custom item" link on the left sidebar if you would like to talk about a custom piece.

And, of course, don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or comments. Feedback is also most appreciated.
