I have always enjoyed sewing, I used to make my own clothes, including my wedding dress. At school, art was my favourite subject, and my A-level course included screen-printing, which allowed me to explore a different aspect of fabric design. Nowadays I combine these activities as an outlet for my creativity and imagination.
It is also a brilliant way of unwinding after a hard day at work! This is why I always sew by hand in a comfy chair with my feet up.

I use materials with significance, a scrap from that wedding dress features in my piece 'Leaves from my wedding'. Other pictures feature items purchased from haberdashers around the world, to which I have dragged my long-suffering husband on each of our recent vacations. Finding and describing our requirements in places where we share no common language is a special but enjoyable challenge.
