Sustainable Organic World strives to be a sustainable, ethical business, and we work hard to mitigate our impact on the environment. Sustainability is important to us. We’re getting greener every step of the way, while still providing you the quality products you deserve. Around 85% of all textiles produced by the fashion industry end up in landfills, making it a major contributor to environmental damage. What’s more, one in every five items produced by the fashion industry reach landfills without being worn even once. As SOW works with on-demand suppliers, we only produce items we get an order for, avoiding textile waste from overproduction. Our printing partner's high-quality printing tech creates almost no wastewaters and uses less energy than standard industry printers.
INFORMATION ABOUT THE PRODUCTION OF THE PRODUCTS:
Each product you see in our catalog is made on-demand—once you place an order, we produce it specifically for you. This allows us to avoid overproduction and textile waste, and we’re continuously working toward greener production.
Did you know that each one of the products you see here on SOW is made just for you? We only print them when we receive your order, avoiding textile waste. So forget about mass-produced clothing and let us create your quality unique one-offs!
INFORMATION ABOUT PRINTING TECH AND MATERIALS:
Our clothing is printed with the direct-to-garment (DTG) printing method. The printing tech we use is made with sustainability in mind, and our Kornit printers use almost zero wastewater and less energy than standard industry printers, lowering our carbon footprint. The inks we use for printing are vegan, water-based, and free of harmful chemicals. We here at SOW take sustainability seriously, that’s why we take care to dispose of any left-over ink according to the ink supplier guidelines.
Organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment. Organic production systems replenish and maintain soil fertility, reduce the use of synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, and build biologically diverse agriculture. We offer organic cotton options across all our apparel collections.
Due to the longer times taken to biodegrade, we avoid companies that use plastics in their products wherever practicable.
We always choose products with the highest possible recycled content to include in our eco friendly products.
SUSTAINABLE SUPPLY CHAIN:
We're especially proud of the rigorous procurement processes, used to screen suppliers for compliance with both fair labor and sustainability standards. Those who look to partner, where possible, with suppliers who are ISO 14001, ISO 24000 or ISO 26000 compliant. And those who also actively seek to work with labs who use renewable energy over standard grid electricity. As a minimum, all our partners must adhere to anti child labor and anti forced labor regulations, as well as providing traceability for all core raw materials.
In closing SOW would like you to know that sustainability is at the core of our business. We are dedicated to making sure we do our due diligence to make the best ethical, sustainable & moral choices, so that you can feel confident that you are getting the highest quality and the best service you deserve! Together we can SOW the seeds to a healthier future.
