I love this ring. Both the craftsmanship and stone are beautiful... my expectations were actually exceeded - photos really don't do it justice. Communication was fast and Chelsea was very gracious about changes/special requests. It arrived a few weeks earlier than expected, too!

About

SwankMetalsmithing

My father opened his jewelery store in 1973 in Downtown Portland it was called The Silver Hammer. Over the years he has had a few different store fronts and over time the name changed to Gary Swank Jewelers. We are now in our permanent location at 1309 SW Broadway.

In 2011 I started hanging around the shop and quickly became enamored. I decided to go full time here and apprentice my father to learn the jewelry trade. Shortly after I started here my younger brother, Grayam, decided to come on board as well. We all do our own CAD designs and have our own unique aesthetics.

All of the work is done here in our shop, from the idea to the wax, casting, metalwork and stone setting and polishing and finishing.

Frequently asked questions

Gift wrapping and packaging

Each piece of jewelry comes in a tan box with the leather top. We also include a polishing cloth.
I will be happy to gift wrap you jewelry for you upon request.

Payment Plans

I am happy to work out a payment plan with you. I generally ask for a deposit of $250 to get started. After that the amount and frequency of installments is up to you, I do ask that they are a minimum of $100. When the piece is paid off it will ship.

Processing Times

Made to order items take about 4 weeks for us to make. If you need something sooner please contact me to see if we can accommodate you.

Why do we use Palladium White Gold?

Most of the white gold that you see in America has nickel as the alloy. 14k gold is about 56% pure gold, the rest is alloy. Nickel based alloys can be problematic because approximately 15% of the population is or will become allergic to nickel over their lifetime. The Palladium white gold we use is nickel free. Palladium which comes from the platinum family of metals replaces the nickel in the alloy, making it hypoallergenic. Palladium white gold has a gorgeous gray color and we do not plate any of our metals so there is no upkeep required.
Palladium white gold is just as durable as commercial white gold.
