My love of art, sewing, forest themes, and a bit of everything else!
I started my shop in April 2012, right after I graduated college. I couldn't wait until I had extra time to start sewing! I've always been a crafty, artsy, sewing, thrifty person. I love making new things out of something old and turning it into something useful, or taking bits of fabric from something very random and using it on a project. Or when I paint I love to incorporate different mediums and paint on things that aren't typical canvas.
The main focus of my shop started out with bridal items, and when I got married I was a bride with a small budget, so I understand what its like to want something nice for your wedding and have it cheap. After working on my wedding, it sparked an interest in me to want to make things for other brides at a good price. My mom and I made my wedding dress out of a very out-of-date but brand new dress at a thrift store, and we turned it into something beautiful with a vintage feel. I hand sewed my floral accessories and sewed them onto the dress as well as making my veil and purse. My whole outfit only cost about $100.
Since then I started experimenting with different floral accessories and materials and just started designing and putting things together by hand. All the items in my shop are hand sewn by me and I have great pleasure in being able to design and create them for people on a budget!
My husband and I are country bumpkins and live in the Canadian boonies with beautiful nature and animal life. I love incorporating that in my crafts and artwork, and a lot of that started when our daughter was born and we made her a very woodsy nursery.
Its a lot of fun being creative and being able to share that creativity with others. Enjoy!
