About

My creative journey

How did I get started in my craft?

I remember a day in my early twenties when on a whim I ended up in my local fabric store. I was delighted with all the beautiful fabrics, sewing supplies and patterns! As I wandered through this store of new possibilities, some soft sculpted baby doll patterns caught my eye. It dawned on me for the first time that hey, I could make that! I really got excited as I picked out my supplies, took them all home and started my first project. This was the start to over a 27 year creative journey, one that has taken many delightful twists and turns along the way. My love of the creative process was born that day and I’ve never looked back. I still have my first handmade doll, a reminder of where it all started and how it has evolved into what I do today.

Today I love working with paper clay, cloth, painting and designing patterns and creating orginal handmades. Trust me when I say that I had to try many things before figuring this out. The early days of neat, crisp and clean were not nearly as fun as the vintage or prim look! As far as style goes, I tend to be on the lighter side of prim, a bit old-fashioned, vintage and whimsical. I love lots of detail in my work and painting is involved in almost everything I do. I really love painting on cloth and the effects of it. My favorite part of any project is the sweet little faces! I feel that without an adorable face, the rest is a moot point! Being creative is what keeps me sane in a crazy world, it really is cheap therapy! Watching a project come to life from clay or cloth is the best feeling in the world! I create for the love of the art, selling my things is just an added bonus! I really love what I do and hope my artwork reflects that.

What are my inspirations?

Some of my inspirations come from walking through antique stores, garage sales, vintage buttons, an old doily, tea pot or perhaps an old bobbin will call my name as I walk by. I don’t always know at the time how they will be incorporated, but given time and a bit of thought it will just pop into my head unexpectedly. Sometimes an item will sit on my shelf for months before the purpose becomes apparent. The adorable paintings and faces of artist Jamie Mills-Price have inspired me in painting my own faces. In the very early years I was introduced to painting on fabric from the now out of print Momma Made Me Do It patterns, they were focused on adorable painted faces. Some of my first inspirations for working with clay came from Pfatt’s own Gourdqueen. I remember happening on her work one day on Ebay, I was amazed at what she could do and still am!

There are times when I have a definite idea and vision in my head of a project I want to do, most of the time I do not, it just happens. It amazes me how a project comes together, telling me what it wants to become as I am working on it, and this is my favorite way of creating, inspiration from the piece itself!

I want to thank my online customers and fellow artist friends, you have all been a delight and amongst some of the sweetest people I have had the privilege to come into contact with! You all are what make this so much fun!

Blessings

The care and pride I take in my creations, is the same attention I will give to customer service, shipping, and in making sure your shopping experience with me is a memorable one. My main concern is that in the end you are a satisfied customer, I will do my best to see that it happens!

Communication is important to me, I check my emails at least twice a day, and will get back to you without delay.

Your item will be packaged with care, shipped in a timely manner, and come from a smoke- free home.

Quotes for shipping will always be fair with no added handling fees, only the actual costs to ship. I will do my best to make sure shipping is as accurate as possible.

All E-Pattern purchases are available for download instantly once payment clears!

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
Payment
I accept all forms of Pay Pal payments, Credit Cards & Etsy gift cards through Etsy Direct Checkout.

Washington residents will be charged the appropriate sales tax.
Shipping
For the most part I will be using Priority as my shipping method. There may be times that I feel UPS or Fed Ex is a better value and will use that. Small orders of supplies and paper patterns under 13 ounces will go out First Class. I try to use the least expensive method. Packages will be mailed out within 3 business days of your purchase. Orders placed Friday and Saturday will most likely not be mailed out until Monday due to the weekend.

Email me if you are international and would like my items. I will decide based on the item/items and the location it will be going if I will ship out. International orders will be sent First Class International. If you want Priority let me know. All International orders accepted will cost more to ship than my US ship quotes and will be based on where it is going. 'Please note that buyers are responsible for any and all duties and customs charges that may be incurred.

E-Patterns can be shipped world wide free via pdf email file!

NOTE: If for some reason the shipping I quote for an item ends up being signifigantly different than I posted, I will refund the difference back to your pay pal account promptly.

Insurance: If you would like your package insured, please let me know in the comments box. I will send you a separate invoice for the extra charge.
Refunds and Exchanges
All sales for my handmade artwork and pdf patterns are final and non returnable, so please be sure to get all questions you may have out of the way before you purchase. I am happy to send more pictures if need be so you will feel confident about your purchase.
Supplies are inspected thoroughly before they leave me so you do not receive damaged items. LED battery operated candles are battery tested before I ship them out to ensure they leave in working order.

The exception to the above rule is if anything unforeseen or an over-sight on my part happens, I will have you ship the item back to me and give you a full refund including shipping. If the item/items are not worth sending back to me I may choose to have you keep the item and send you a replacement. This depends on the order. I may ask you to send me a picture of the damaged item/items.

I will always do my best to make sure every item leaves me in perfect condition, but hey, this is the real world and things happen, the buyer will not be responsible in situations like that.

If there is damage or loss that happens within the shipping process, and is the USPS fault, I will take the appropriate avenues to get it resolved with them. I will promptly get this issue resolved with the customer as well.
