Here in sunny Florida under swaying palm trees, I create everything you see in my studio. My items are usually one of a kind, made in twos and threes. I use Sculpey Premo polymer clay, gold, silver, crystal, glass, paper and gemstone minerals. My pins are unique. My house blessing cases and mezuzahs make wonderful wedding and house warming gifts. My rosaries and chaplets are cherished by those celebrating life milestones, or facing life challenges. Some of my jewelry makes a statement. And some is very droll!

Explore my world. Heart my shop and return often.

Sweetchild Jewelry has been featured in artizen magazine: http://publications.catstonepress.com/i/110413/34

ALL MY ITEMS ARRIVE BEAUTIFULLY GIFT-WRAPPED. I accept Paypal, credit cards and Etsy gift cards. I ship worldwide in sturdy USPS Priority Mail cardboard boxes with plenty of bubble wrap. Don't see what you want? Convo me with custom requests.

FLORIDA SHOPPERS: REMEMBER TO PAY SALES TAX of 6% PLUS any DISCRETIONARY COUNTY SALES TAX. If you do not include discretionary county sales tax I will send you a Paypal invoice which you will have to pay before I can ship your items to you. Questions? Convo me before you buy.

Rosary and chaplet care: Keep your rosary or chaplet in a protective pouch or coin purse in your bedside table, purse or backpack. Take care not to crush it, sleep on top of it, yank it or drop it. Polymer clay is tough but it CAN break if too forcefully bent, and stone or glass beads can shatter if stepped on, or dropped on a hard surface. Using this simple care, your rosary or chaplet will give you many years of service.

About

Polymer Clay stokes my imagination!

Welcome! I make all the polymer clay jewelry in my shop. I combine Premo polymer clay with gemstone and crystal beads, silver and gold wire, jewelry findings, and found objects. My work also has a strong spiritual component.

My shop is called Sweetchild Jewelry because my last name, Soskin, means “seuss-kind,” or "sweet child" in German. I have been making art since I was a sweet child. OK, I wasn’t always sweet. I was probably feisty and bossy most of the time!

Pennsylvania German folk art was an early influence. I’ve been a public school art teacher, a cross stitch designer and quilt maker. Now I work in polymer clay, which allows for very individualized artistic expression. That is why each PC artist’s work is so unique and distinctive. You can roll, extrude, texture, stamp, incise, inlay, and buff polymer clay. PC can also imitate amber, lapis, or ivory. PC techniques include making Skinner blends, clay canes, mica shift, and mokume gane. Patience, persistence and playful experimentation create eye-catching results.

My stash includes dozens of little bottles of beads, many handmade canes, wire, thread, findings, and stone beads. I have texture sheets and tools, molds, and small items like postage stamps, buttons, and watch parts.

I love to work with polymer clay. Its versatility enables PC artists to create very distinctive unique work. I appreciate that Etsy shoppers value artisan-made, one-of-a-kind jewelry. You make a statement by supporting individual artists. Thanks!

Please pay instantly with direct checkout, Paypal, or Etsy gift cards. Items purchased using any of these methods will be shipped the day after your full payment is received.

FLORIDA BUYERS: Add 6% state sales tax PLUS ANY ADDITIONAL DISCRETIONARY COUNTY SALES TAX FOR ALL SHIPMENTS TO FLORIDA ADDRESSES. If there is a sales tax discrepancy requiring convos or e-mails, I wait to ship items until I receive your surtax payment via Paypal. Check here to see if your county has a surtax, and add that amount to your payment:

http://dor.myflorida.com/dor/forms/current/dr15dss_1113.pdf
Shipping
I ship the day, or day after, you pay. Shipping choices:
USPS Priority mail (2-3 days, SMALL flat rate box and more expensive)
USPS First class mail (2-5 days, less expensive, cardboard box or bubble mailer)
USPS International First class mail (6-10 days), cardboard box.

FLORIDA BUYERS be sure to include 6% state sales tax PLUS any discretionary county sales tax. Not including any county surtax will cause shipping delays.

Holiday rush: I make every effort to get your items in the mail the day or day after you pay, but I am not responsible for postal delivery speed. Avoid stress by ordering in a timely manner.

I do not offer refunds for Post Office shipping loss. I will happily share your item's shipping receipt information with you if you need it, in order to find any lost merchandise.

If you order larger or multiple items, I may need to convo you prior to shipping to quote you a shipping price. Usually 2-3 items can ship in one small box.
Refunds and Exchanges
Convo me if you need to return an item. (Personalized and custom items cannot be returned.) Return items in original condition within 7 days of their receipt for store credit or refund. YOU PAY RETURN SHIPPING. Mailing directions for returns: wrap securely in bubble wrap and mail in cardboard box with bubble wrap to my address.

No refunds are available if you leave negative feedback without contacting me first to see if I can make things right for you. I will leave you feedback after you leave me feedback and are happy with your purchase.

I will make repairs for a repair fee plus the cost of materials, and I will tell you how much that will cost before you ship the item back to me for repairs, so you can decide if it's worth it to you. (YOU pay shipping to me for the repair, and also for the shipping to return the item to you.) Simple repairs, such as regluing a pin back can be done by you at home with super glue. (I wear my pins all the time and have never had one come off.)
Additional policies and FAQs
Care of rosaries and chaplets: store in a protective container like a small leather or velvet bag, sturdy coin purse, or small tin box, especially if you carry them in your pocket, purse or backpack. Do not yank the rosary out of a purse or backpack by the cross or the beaded wire; it could break. Treat them as works of art; show them respect as artisan-made religious items. They will serve you well. For ages 16+.

Mezuzahs come without a scroll. Scrolls can be ordered from www.jewishsource.com.
