Announcement   Sweetheart Lane will be closed indefinitely. It has been a wonderful 4 1/2 years. Thank you to all my sweet customers for encouraging my love & rescue of antique lockets, all the while allowing me to stay home with my children through your business. It has been a true joy running this little shop, and hearing all your lovely stories. I don't know if I will open again in the next few years, I have to see where life takes me, but let's see ;)

Sweetheart Lane will be closing indefinitely this week. This is all I have left, and the person who is my 1,400th sale will get a refund of $10 after purchase as a thank you :)
Lots of odds and ends going up in the shop as I'm cleaning out my closets! Take advantage of some sweet deals on vintage and antique brooches, a slide chain, watch chains, and more! Make me an offer if there's more than one thing you want!

The "Genuine" Antique Locket...

For as long as I can remember, I have always been a lover of all things genuinely old, especially things with a story. Being a woman, I am naturally sentimental. Antique lockets therefore, are irresistible to me. What can be more wonderful than a beautiful piece of jewelry that one can conceal a precious picture of a loved one inside, or fold a delicate lock of hair from their darling child within? I can think of nothing. Moreover, owning something that you know belonged to a person who did such a thing with it many many years ago is extremely special. Each locket in my shop has both history and mystery, as one can only guess who owned it at one time, and what secrets it may have carried within...

One of the main reasons that I started this shop, however, was my frequent dismay at how many things (in specific, lockets) are passed off as "antique" when they are clearly not. If you do a Google search you will find hundreds, nay, thousands of lockets and other various things that are no more than 1-20 years old, but are being labeled "antique." To be truly antique, something must be 100+ years old, and to be truly vintage, something must be 50-99 years old. I want my shop to be a haven for all those who want to own a true piece from the past, as in the LONG past. I put much research into my inventory in order to insure my customers that they are not buying fakes, or even well-done reproductions. The lockets of the late 1800's to the early 1900's were made to last and be heirlooms, as can be evidenced by the fact that they are still with us, many times in excellent condition despite their age. It is my goal to continue to allow these beautiful pieces to be enjoyed and passed down, rather than melted for scrap.

The saying is cliche but true: "They just don't make things like they used to anymore..."

Shop policies

Welcome to Sweetheart Lane, the one-stop antique locket shop you've been looking for all this time! All of my lockets are fully functioning and ready to wear, and come on vintage or hand-made chains. They also come with a gift bag or gift box, and care instructions.

I am always adding new lockets to the store, so when you first look, if you don't see something you adore one day, just keep checking back frequently. I also always have other lockets in my inventory that I just haven't listed yet, so feel free to message me if there is something special you are looking for.

I am extremely committed to selling genuine vintage (1917-1950's) and antique lockets (no reproductions here!) and having satisfied customers. If you decide to do me the honor of purchasing one of my lockets, I will work with you to make sure everything goes smoothly and that you are thoroughly satisfied. I have excellent feedback, so please, buy with confidence and feel free to ask any questions.

Returns and exchanges
Unfortunately all sales are final unless there is a gross misrepresentation of the item. I take meticulous pictures and list all specifications in the listing, so you will get exactly what you see. All questions and requests for further pictures before purchase are welcome. After four years on Etsy, and excellent feedback, you can have confidence in your purchase from Sweetheart Lane and know that I am very careful to sell and list only things in wearable and fully-functioning condition.

*I do take returns for repair purposes on the handmade chains as I realize that things happen and jewelry can break. Please message me immediately if this happens. Happy to work with you.

PLEASE DO NOT SEND BACK ANYTHING WITHOUT CONTACTING ME. If this happens without prior agreement from myself, I will be forced to either send the locket(s) back to you at my convenience, or keep it and relist it. Either way unfortunately there will be no refund for the customer.
I accept PayPal, Credit Card, and Etsy giftcards.

*U.S. Customers- if you would like to purchase with a money order that is possible, but please contact me prior to purchase about this.

Fellow GA residents must pay an additional 7% sales tax. I am sorry but this is the law.
I ship ALL DOMESTIC items with tracking, and I ship SAME OR NEXT business day :) The tracking number with its delivery confirmation will count as proof of item received if a customer claims they did not receive their purchase for all domestic purchases, and international packages sent via Registered Mail (registered mail includes tracking.)

*For all lockets/jewelry shipped domestically, insurance is included in your shipping cost.

Arrival Times:

* U.S. Customers: First Class Mail usually arrives within 4-7 days from the date of shipment, and USPS Priority Mail within 2-3 days. Expedited Shipping arrives in 1 day. Please also do not blame me for late mail, as I ship quickly, but I simply cannot help the post office's tardiness.

* International Customers: I allow you the option to ship most items under about $100 to be shipped via First Class International Mail, which takes 1-3 weeks. Once items leave the United States border, I am unfortunately unable to 100% track or insure them. Almost all of them do have tracking all the way to their destination now thanks to some postal improvements, but it is not 100% guaranteed, hence my disclaimer.

****If you purchase from me and your address is to a country I am not comfortable shipping to, especially Russia or Italy, I reserve the right to cancel the transaction. It is nothing personal, but packages don't always make it safely to certain countries, and I cannot take that risk as a small shop owner.

Lastly, for international customers, (although luckily this usually does not happen) there is a small possibility* that you might be charged taxes/customs by your country's government when you receive your package, and I don't cover those fees and have no control/knowledge of when or why they might be incurred.

*UNITED KINGDOM CUSTOMERS please note: I have learned from other UK Etsians that if you order a locket from me that costs upwards of £40 ($62), you have a higher chance of your item being "caught" by customs. They will most likely state "insufficient postage" and slap an £8 fee on you, as well as a percentage of the total cost of your item on top of that. Usually you cannot collect your item until this fee is paid in full. I know it's not fun, but please be prepared for this possibility. The US mail will NOT allow us to ship an item without paying sufficient postage on our end, so please do NOT think I skimped on postage, as it's not actually possible to do so. I am very sorry, but I cannot be responsible for another country's governmental taxes. I don't want to deter my loyal UK customers, but please keep this in mind anytime you order something from me (or anywhere in the United States).

***PLEASE PLEASE check to make sure that the mailing address you give me is correct. I cannot be responsible for something that is lost in the mail if the wrong address was given to me.
Additional policies and FAQs

RESERVES: I do reserve lockets gladly, but I cannot keep them on reserve for long, usually no more than 24 hours. I am flexible though so please feel free to message me with any questions about this, I realize there are cases where exceptions apply.

REPAIRS: I do realize that things might break due to time, human error, or for no apparent reason. I will gladly repair any handmade item (namely chains) that you have purchased that has broken. Please contact me immediately if you need assistance in this. Depending on the circumstance, a small fee could apply.

BUYING MULTIPLE LOCKETS: If you would like to purchase three (3) or more lockets at a time, please put in the code MULTIPLE at checkout. Orders of three or more items without that discount applied at checkout are not eligible for the discount after purchase (refunded amount).

HAND-ENGRAVING: Unfortunately this is a specialized skill that I do not have, but this shop is who I would recommend. Damon is fast, professional, and reasonably-priced. He did my own locket, so you know he can be trusted. You can contact him here:

LOOKING FOR A SPECIFIC TYPE OF LOCKET: If you are looking for a particular type of locket that you don't find on here, please feel free to contact me. I usually have a couple on hand that are not listed yet.

SCRAPPING FOR METAL CONTENT: Lastly, these lockets are all old pieces and are meant to be cherished and worn. I put a decent amount of research into my inventory, and I base my prices on the age, condition, and rarity of each locket. I do my best to keep my prices very reasonable and lower than what you will see in both online and brick and mortar antique stores. That being said, please please DO NOT buy these and scrap them for the metal, regardless of silver and gold prices. That would be a real tragedy, and the total opposite of the entire basis for this shop.

Your locket comes from a smoke free, but not pet free home. We do have a cat.
