About

Readers Digest Article

My shop got started when my husband Jack told me about etsy from an article he had read in the Readers Digest...I was knitting a lot at the time and so I decided to open a shop, I did and less then 2 weeks later I sold my first item, it was a blue crib baby blanket, so I started making more and more and listing them, I had a customer tell me about using natural fibers, and so then I started to bring wool, cotton and alpaca yarns into the shop as well, I have gravitated to mostly making blankets, baby, throws and a few afghans here and there.
My husband Jack also knits and he helps me to keep the shop stocked with items, that are the most popular sellers.

My shop name is an interesting story, the funny thing is that when I started with etsy, I did not know that I was making Sweetybird09 my shop name, I just thought it was a user name, Sweetybird is the nickname that Jack has given me because I like the cartoon character "Tweetybird"

I am enjoying this very much, I have met some of the nicest people, and its so nice to get pics of babies using my blankets, that just warms my heart.

Hi my Name is Joyce, so glad that you took the time to visit my Sweetybird09 shop.

Let me tell you a little about me and my shop, I have been knitting for 11 years, I was taught by my Mother, and I have gravitated to making mostly blankets, baby blankets, throws/lap/halfgans, and some afghans.

I hand knit all items, hand wash them (for acrylic yarn) and put softener in the rinse water and air dry when I can, so they are ready for you to give away as a gift or keep which ever the case may be.
