HANDMADE by one pair of hands: mine. I don't even sew by machine. I listen to fiction via audio books while I guide needle and thread in and out of fabric. My ear is on the story; my heart is in my work.

About

Upcycled handmade wearable and wall art for the rogue romantic

Mission
To banish cubicle mindset, flout conformity, feed the spirit with enchanting finds and move through life with panache.

Description
Swoosh by Scrollwork surfaces the extraordinary from the ordinary. I winnow the dismissed and discarded, the vintage and thrifted, finding forgotten things to reshape and reimagine into curiosities that are beautiful in their weirdness.

You need nothing; you want something. Something delightful to dispel the drab. Something scandalous or frivolous, intriguing or warped. Something to enchant you. This is where to look.

Swoosh by Scrollwork wearables are designed to enhance graceful movement on and off the dance floor. Their charm derives from a quirky departure from the usual. Some edges may be left raw on purpose. Embellishments are sewn by hand without the precision of machine stitches. Unless otherwise noted, everything has been pre-loved. Clothing will arrive freshly washed.

Scrollwork practices good citizenship. Items bought by Californians will have appropriate district and state taxes applied.
Shipping
U.S. Shipping

Your item ships First Class if it weighs under 13 oz. and via Priority Mail if heavier. Priority Mail includes delivery confirmation.

Shipping costs listed include a small handling fee to offset the cost of packaging and trips to the post office.

International shipping

Your package can be delayed in customs. Any import duties, taxes and charges are the buyer's responsibility. Please check with your country's customs office to know what these additional costs will be prior to buying. These charges are normally collected by the delivering freight (shipping) company or when you pick the item up – they are not additional shipping charges.

U.S. and international government regulations prohibit marking items as gifts or below actual value.

With much regret, I will not ship to Italy due to that country's import restrictions:

Packaging

I reuse like-new packing materials whenever possible. They will be clean and sturdy. If your purchase is a gift, please email me if you prefer all-new packaging.

Items ship the day after purchase.
Refunds and Exchanges
No refunds, no exchanges, no exceptions, and here's why:

To offer all customers a truthful statement that each item was handmade in a non-smoking household, I do not accept returns, as I have no control over the merchandise once it leaves my home studio. This also protects all my customers from merchandise that has been stretched out, stained or soiled beyond repair from a previous buyer. Because who would find that enchanting?

Each one-of-a-kind item is designed and painstakingly created for a woman who knows what she wants when she sees it. Please purchase decisively. I will not be an enabler to shopping bulimia. Great care has been taken to photograph and describe each item accurately to empower you to make an informed decision. Color will appear slightly different from computer to computer. Each purchase is sent on its journey with a one-way ticket and a fervent wish that it pleases you.

I package each item to protect it as much as possible in transit. In the unlikely event that your purchase was damaged in transit, please file a claim with the United States Postal Service.

I put out good karma as an etsy buyer for a year and a half prior to opening shop. I committed to each purchase with thoughtful attention to measurements, policies and courtesies. I promptly left appreciative, honest feedback and supported etsy's commitment to handmade and vintage. I cheerfully allowed for unforeseeable delays and the occasional absent-minded seller who forgot to check her sales orders. While asking the universe for the kind of customer I've been, I strive to follow the example of the best sellers with whom I've done business.
Additional policies and FAQs
Most wearables, except those with leather or suede parts, may be hand or machine washed in a net laundry bag using the gentle cycle in cold water. If items are dark-colored, I recommend washing with similarly dark-colored clothing. Lay flat to dry. Cherish and relish.

I live in a non-smoking household that used to dote on a lovely orange Maine Coon, but we lost him to cancer in January 2014. Our home will remain pet-free henceforth.
