T. Colleen Artisan: Relief Prints, and Handmade Soap

Fort Wayne, Indiana | 119 Sales

Announcement    You may have noticed the change in my shop name and wondered, what's up with that? I'm selling my relief prints now and rather than manage two shops, I've combined the art with my soap. I know, strange combination.
Additionally, I'm only taking special/custom orders for soap at this point but feel free to contact me if you have a question or an idea (Bridal shower? Baby Shower? Custom labels?)

    About TColleenArtisan

    Sales 119
    On Etsy since 2014

I'm a psychotherapist by day but make art and soap as a form of my own self care.

After inundating my friends and family with enough soap to last them years, I decided to begin selling my creations in 2001. My first business name was Red Cottage Naturals, after the lovely lake cottage where my first formulas were created. Since then I've left the cottage but the passion for making the finest handmade soap on the market has endured.

In 2018 I stumbled upon printmaking, quite by accident. My husband has a letterpress studio and asked if I would carve an image for him for a poster - that was all it took. I rarely go a day without working on a carving or print now - mostly I make linoleum blocks, but also some wood and I'm dabbling in etching.

While the combination of soap and prints in one Etsy shop may be unusual, both are the product of my own creative outlet which serve as a personal expression that I love to share with others.

I'm a psychotherapist by day and use creative outlets as a form of self care. I began making soap and bath products in 1999, and while I've been dabbling in arts my entire life I stumbled into the world of relief printmaking on 2018.

    T. Colleen Artisan Soap is made with only natural oils and colors. Because of that, there will be a variation in color and pattern from time to time, and if not stored properly, color and scent will fade over time. Please store unused soap in a dark place, in a sealed container or the original packaging to maintain color and scent. Nature will break the soap down nonetheless, and while I've had customers tell me they have 5-7 year old soap that "smells great!", I want you to use and enjoy it. Please indulge(!) and for best experience, use with 1 year of purchase and keep soap dry between use.

My prints are all handmade from my own carvings either from wood or linoleum (and an occasional etching from plexiglass). Every piece will have slight variations due to the hand printing process. I print with professional ink and use archival papers (type is designated in the listing), usually with deckled or torn edges, as it it the traditional style in printmaking. Each piece is shipped flat with a protective backing and clear protective sleeve. I do not sell framed prints at this time.
