Announcement   Instagram: @thimbleandacorn // Welcome to Thimble and Acorn! My name is Eve and I make clothing and accessories for women. My home and studio are located in a little valley in Vermont.

I work with a combination of high quality fabrics, eco / organic fabrics, and occasionally vintage/recycled/upcycled materials. Each piece is made with great care and love. Some of my clothing is Made to Order, and some pieces are One of a Kind. I also occasionaly feature unique vintage items in my shop as well. Enjoy shopping and feel free to send me a convo!

*never grow up*
If you don't remember from when you were little:
Wendy gave Peter Pan a thimble, when he held out his hand for a kiss (she did not want to hurt his feelings). Peter Pan then gave Wendy an acorn as a "kiss" which later saved her life...

About

a love of work.

I started Thimble and Acorn in 2007, as a way to bring the kind of work that I truly enjoy back into my life. I have been making clothing for myself and others for many years, and am lucky enough to do it for a living! I love learning new crafts and techniques. I have been weaving out of my home studio for a few years now, and am completely in love with it! In the winter I love nothing more than hunkering down by the woodstove to knit for the shop or work on new weaving projects!

When I am not working on Thimble and Acorn, I am busy working in the garden and taking care of my three chickens. I try to preserve as much food as I can (get it?) for the winter months. I also enjoy soap making, and learning about natural wellbeing.

My customers make me so happy everyday, I am so grateful. Thank you for visiting!

I love making things. I have been sewing for most of my life, and love that it is what I do for a living. I am also a knitter, weaver, soap maker and gardener. I honestly love working, and am always striving to learn new things.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
Payment
* I accept payment via paypal or directly through Etsy, this also allows you to use credit cards. If you need to pay some other way outside of paypal or credit card convo me and we will work something out!

* If you would like to pay for something in installments send me a convo and we will work out a payment plan that works for you! Same goes for putting things on hold, just let me know and I will hold it for you!
Shipping
I ship USPS.
If you need something shipped out immediately let me know and I will do what I can to get it to as soon as I can!
Orders take about a week (from the time that I receive payment) to have made and shipped out.
Convo me if you want to upgrade your shipping, if you would like insurance, delivery confirmation/tracking number (US only), express overnight etc and I will change your shipping cost accordingly.
Refunds and Exchanges
I encourage you to convo me about any sizing questions you might have, or if you need more details about the feel of a material, anything to help you with your decisions!

Vintage purchases are Final Sale, please convo me with any questions prior to purchase about fit or for more details.

Custom/Made to Order items are made for your measurements and are ideally a 'final sale'. If you are unsatisfied with anything you buy from me send me a convo and let me know, I will try to resolve the situation! Customer satisfaction is very important to me. I want you to be happy with your experience in my shop and on Etsy!

Returns/Exchanges: If you have a question about a possible exchange or return, please message me within 1 week of when you receive your item. As this is a very small business I am unable to consider returns/exchanges after 7 days. Again, please feel free to message me if you have a question or concern.
Additional policies and FAQs
*I often use flat measurements in my listings. I find this to be very useful because you can measure one of your favorite fitting shirts or dresses, compare the measurements with mine and have an actual feel for how something will fit you. If you need any further info about any of my sizes please don't hesitate to ask, I am more than happy to get very descriptive for you!

*Everything in my shop is handmade by me, Eve. (Excluding vintage!) I use my own patterns for some designs, and others I cut freehand using your measurements only. Some of my designs that I make multiples of might be very slightly different from one another, as I am not a machine...although I do sometimes feel like one! I love sewing, and creating. In purchasing from Thimble and Acorn, you are supporting a happy and thoughtful little business!

*I accept a few wholesale orders a year, please convo me for details.
