Rebecca works so hard to make it perfect. I got so many compliments on this dress visiting tourist town in Catskills, NY. Soft organic cotton fabric, too. I will order again and again from Threadbeat! R is awesome and caring, too.

A fantastic piece of work. This backpack is lightweight, strong, and beautiful. It’s perfect for school and/or work, has a lot of compartments. Also there was a lovely message by Rebecca. Overall, highly satisfied.

From Rags to Well Made Rags

My business started from my instinct to alter all of my clothing (mainly vintage) to fit my very specific body type, I have done this since grade school. When I discovered pattern-making my mind was blown wide open. I have honed my skills by committing myself to making one item per day since 2010.

The sole aim of Threadbeat Handmade is to create custom garments and patterns that make the customer look and feel their best. Once a pattern block is made according to the individual's very specific body measurements, it will be kept on file for that customer exclusively, and they will be able to buy any other threadbeat designs, knowing every one will fit perfectly.

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Returns and exchanges
Threadbeat is a custom shop, refunds are not available, unless an order is cancelled within 12 hours of sending payment- please contact me, and I can assess your refund on a case by case basis.

Deposits- deposits for group orders (bridal parties) are non-refundable. Your deposit secures your place in my work schedule- this extends my turnaround time substantially for all other orders.

All shipping will be insured.

I will not ship a damaged item.

Any garments that are damaged after they have been worn (i.e. rips or torn seams) can be shipped back for repair, send me pictures first, and I will quote a repair price.

I will update you on production times- please try to be patient.
I expect prompt payment for all items. Threadbeat is a custom shop, unless an item is listed otherwise, everything is made to order. This process will not start until I can be assured that my time will be compensated. All cancellations must be made within 12 hours of payment, any later than that, I will only refund 50% of the sale, I start working on designs as soon as I am paid and have the measurements I need.

Regarding alterations- for first time fittings on custom clothing orders, there is no charge, as this is a necessary part of the process

For Clothing repairs due to natural wear and or damage by the customer, a charge will be determined on a case-by-case basis, depending on the nature of the repair.

Threadbeat ships usps priority mail, because most orders are custom, a minimum 4-6 week window is needed for production and shipment, to allow enough time to complete each order correctly, I will be sure to update you, as things usually are done well before the sixth week, depending on the season, some orders may take as long as 8 weeks to complete. Please check my shop announcement for current lead time.
If you need an item sooner than the projected shipping date, you will be charged a $75 RUSH ORDER fee to move your order ahead on my work list.

If you receive an item that does not fit properly, or needs minor adjustment... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE with the garment on, safety pin the problem areas equally on both sides of the body, and pin a brief but descriptive note on the spots that did not fit correctly. This will happen with custom orders the first time you work with someone who is not standing in front of you. Please don't feel disappointed, this is normal! send the garment back, the pattern and the garment will be adjusted accordingly, and any future threadbeat orders will fit you according to the changes made. This may seem discouraging at first- but the pay off is wonderful!
Additional policies and FAQs
All clothing orders are custom, unless specified in the listing, with labeled sizes. Items without size description are examples of Threadbeat designs, If you would like to order one, please send me a convo, and I will post a reserved order with your name on it for purchase.

I NEED YOUR MEASUREMENTS! I will not be able to make anything without your measurements, and things wont fit if they aren't done properly, so get out your measuring tape, and grab a friend.

If you feel a certain area of your body is more attractive than another, TELL ME! I will make sure that the garment you receive highlights this area, for example- I have really big boobs, a slim waist on a long torso, but my legs are kind of short. I make my clothes to highlight my waist, and shorten my torso, making my legs look longer.

This is what I will need to get started-

Bust measurement- around the fullest part of the bust.
Bra size, cup size is a must.

Rib cage- directly under your bust- you can use the bottom of your bra band as a guide

across the back- shoulder to shoulder

natural waist- where your waist is the slimmest

nape of your neck to natural waist

hip- where the hip/ butt/ thigh area is the fullest

waist to knee measurement- natural waist to just above the knee, this is used for skirt length, If you would like something longer or shorter, please specify.

arm length, bicep measurement- this is used for sleeved garments, a bicep measurement is needed for the fitted princess sleeve. this will be where the arm slims right below the shoulder muscle.

Plus sizes will be priced slightly higher, only to account for material costs.
