Beautiful color and high quality leather in a modern classic design. Thanks so much!

I really, really like this backpack! It looks good, but more importantly, it is extremely comfortable while wearing. The only drawback is that I would have really like an interior sleeve for a tablet and/or magazines. But I do love the side and front pockets and the overall look.

A Hobby That Became a Profession

After college, I started making bags and small leather goods as a hobby. Years later I decided to get more serious about it and began working with a manufacturer. Luckily, I work in Manahttan, so it was possible to run over to the Garment District at lunch and be back at my desk in an hour. Eventually, my side business picked up and I am now able to work in accessory design full time. My lunch breaks are now spent eating lunch.
For the past four years I have worked closely with a pattern-maker and team of craftspeople in Union City, NJ. My pattern-maker Joseph is originally from Egypt. He has been working in the New York garment industry for over 30 years. My bags are sold at excellent boutiques across the US, in Japan and Australia. Since I always end up with some overstock at the end of the season, I set up this Etsy shop to sell extra inventory at a discount. If you have any questions please ask.

    Owner, Designer

I am a Brooklyn-based designer–I love making things on my own and with artisans. I studied architecture but gravitated towards more hands-on design. TRIBUTARY is a place for me to share objects–some I made, some I designed and some I just love...

  • FHF

    Guanajuato, Mexico

A small, independently-owned workshop in Guanajuato, Mexico–the capital of Mexican saddle making since colonial times. The factory pays living wages and provides childcare to its employees. I have personally visited the facility and can attest to its professionalism and the happiness of its staff.

  • J&E

    Union City, NJ

A small workshop in Union, City NJ. The owner is a pattern-maker with over 30 years experience. I have been working with this crew for over 5 years and think of them like family. The entire operation is less than 5 people and they make the products with love.
