Twists & Gems is a sole proprietorship -- a silver studio located in Devers, Texas

Making unique jewelry is something I have done for many years, but the creation of Twists & Gems -- my silver studio across the yard from my log home -- occurred in 2004.
I have always worked independently and have sold my work on consignment in museum gift shops, local shops and at crafts fairs as the opportunities presented themselves to me. But to be able to associate with Etsy and the many creative individuals who have Etsy shops is a real pleasure for me.
A few students have sought me out from time to time -- either individually or in small classes, but the work that represents Twists & Gems is all produced by me. I use traditional silver smith techniques including fabrication and forging for foundations of many of these pieces. In addition, I often create pieces using wire wrapping techniques. Most recently, I have discovered precious metal clay, and have found that it can be used alone or in combination with traditional or wire wrapped techniques. I have begun learning a few chain maille weaves for bracelets, key chains, and the like chains..
Colored gemstones have always held a special fascination for me, and I use the ones that I have long ago collected as well as ones that I still purchase from time to time. The cubic zirconia being produced these days in all sorts of beautiful colors are a great deal of fun to work with as they are affordable even in hugh sizes for great statement pieces -- and they can be fired in place on Precious Metal Clay pieces.
As you view the work that represents Twists & Gems, you will begin to recognize the many combined techniques. I hope that you will enjoy seeing them and appreciate the value of owning a piece or two as well. Come back often to see what is new, and share the shop with your friends and family who might also enjoy unique twists on gems.

Additional policies and FAQs
Because of the nature of One of a Kind Designs, One must take into consideration that some styles may be done in a similar style to some that are already listed, and others may have quite a bit of variation. Thus, custom prices vary on most orders because of variance in the cost of materials required and time required to complete the designs.

Once you place your custom order request, I will individually compute the price for you, requesting you to verify the specifics for your request before you place your order.

IMPORTANT: If you are wanting to include a natural gemstone that I have in stock, it's price will be computed in the cost of the piece, and the discount applied to the total.

If you want a particular stone that I do not currently have in stock, I will search the best price I can find for you, and will add the hours required in finding the stone and the shipping costs to the wholesale price of the stone for you in computing the basic price of your piece. This will be presented for approval before you finalize the order of the custom piece. And the estimated time to produce the work will be submitted as well.

I never begin physical work on the piece until it is paid in full.
Contact me through the custom order button to begin the process. Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
