This was my special request, s totally custom order! It was completed in less than 1-2 hours including the very fine crochet silhouette of the dog with his ear apliqued on top as well as the finely stitched heart! It was beyond my wildest dreams! So perfectly done. Not just any old black dog, truly distinctive! I am forever grateful!

There is still time to by a unique gift for your favorite Valentine!
Caught this shot at Black Canyon of the Gunnison in Colorado. Thought it would be perfect to announce my new little deer with the golden antlers on a coffee cozy sleeve.
Give your girlfriend or mother or BFF or sister another kitty. This little black kitty requires no special care but will keep your fingers from heating up on your favorite coffee house latte cup.

About

Tabletop Jewels

I am a sole proprietor. All the items in my shop are truly handmade by myself. I purchase the supplies, I create all the finished goods. I photograph and post to my Etsy shop. I do the shipping.

Handcrafted lovelies have always been in the homes of my grandmothers, my mother, my aunts, my sisters, my cousins……….quilting, sewing, crocheting, knitting, embroidery………an art out of necessity.

I learned to crochet as a teenager. Our home town was under a flood watch. While my mother and myself were awake all night awaiting the alarm to evacuate she began to teach me to crochet. I was "hooked".

A full time IT Business Analyst job kept me from enjoying my craft full time. I am now retired, and enjoy endless hours of creating. I am grateful to Etsy for supplying the platform with which to share my craft and supplement my retirement. It is so rewarding to hear how my customers appreciate and admire my craft: www.etsy.com/your/shops/TableTopJewels/reviews

"In a slant of light, a woman crochets a doily,
Working the hook in and out. She wraps
a thread of cotton floss around her index finger,
almost as if she were writing. The words fall
from her crochet hook, linked into lace, a page.
Words tangle in stringy ink, almost manic,
a speaking in tongues, looped, caught, tucked
under a stitch of breath. Memory rises as if
it were a doily of lace, beautifully edged,
holding what once mattered."

I personally hand crochet all of the crochet thread products. Only the best quality fine gauge cotton crochet thread is used; gauge sizes 10 and smaller that will enhance the appearance and value of the item. (The higher the gauge size the finer the thread). Each doily is painstakingly hand blocked. I never press them as ironing will flatten the thread. A LIGHT starch is applied; just enough to hold the shape, but retain a natural softness.

I currently do not have a pet (wonderful black lab died a few years ago). I do not smoke and do not allow smoking in my home.

Your purchase can become an heirloom and will last for generations.

If you see one you like, but would like a different color, I accept custom orders.

Each shipment includes instructions for the care and preservation of your new purchase. Unless stained, your doily should not need laundering. Dusty? Slip into the dryer on air-only setting for a minute or two. Carefully packed to prevent wrinkling during shipment.
