So excited to frame these for my kitchen. Beautiful colors! The image is so crisp and clear and her prints are just as good as the online image.
Child of Rural Hippie Homesteaders to Professional Photographer
My shop officially began when I moved to Salt Lake City, UT and began telling my friends about my childhood. To them, I grew up at the end of the earth. In some respects I grew up in a very isolated and unique rural farming culture. The purpose of my photography is to bring a piece of the beauty of a rural place to people around the world. As small farms are disappearing more and more, the culture is disappearing with it.
In my travels around he world, I have had more than one person tell me they have never met a person from Idaho. That is because most people in Idaho are busy farming and don't have time to travel much.
My dad started buying land out on the Lost River when he was 18 years old. Later, he moved his family there to begin a life in a homestead cabin with a 2 ft. well, a sod roof, and no heat source. I attribute part of my obsession with small farms/homesteads with my being raised in a homestead cabin. I attribute my obsession with old gates and fences to the many years of crawling through and under barbed wire fences to get to my destination.
With my work I hope to bring a bit of the rural landscape to life. For others to experience the stark vistas, golden sunsets, lush fields of grain, and vast skies.
