Announcement    I knit with a wide variety of luxury yarns to create wonderfully cozy Ready Made hats, scarves, gloves, and blankets. The right design can improve not only the way you appear to others, but also the way you feel about yourself, which in turn will improve the way you perform in the world. If you have a special need, whether temporary or ongoing, and would like a custom order, I can create a garment that functions better for you than any knitwear ever has in the past, while allowing your unique style to shine. If you enjoy knitting yourself, you will find lovely Knitting Jewelry like stitch markers, progress keepers, and scarf pins to add delight to your WIPs and even more joy to making gifts for your non-knitterly friends. Periodically, I will also be publishing knitting patterns for pieces that are uncommon yet fill a universal need. I am happy to provide specialized Services to knitters like ball-winding and blocking, and I am always eager to hear of any custom orders you may desire. Life is meant to be enjoyed, and I am here to help you along your way!

About

Everyone, regardless of circumstances, deserves to feel like they fit into their world. I want to facilitate that feeling for as many people as possible.

A handmade gift makes me feel loved, and a knitted gift can give warmth to a soul as well as a body. When a gift is crafted to accommodate physical impairments, or to please a particular aesthetic, it sends the message that the recipient is worthy of care and joy. When I thought about what kind of business I wanted to create, and what kind of legacy I wanted to leave, I decided that I wanted to provide as many opportunities for others to feel joy as possible.

I learned to knit at the age of 10 from a booklet and a skein of acrylic yarn given to me by my grandmother, who liked to crochet more than she cared to teach the craft. After learning the basics, I put it aside to start my professional life. When I found myself between jobs in 2007, I turned back to knitting, and found that it gave me a chance to unleash my creativity, within a structure that suited my analytic style. I focused my efforts on mastering the more advanced techniques, and discovered a whole new world of sustainable and luxury yarns I had never imagined before. I wanted to share the news about these yarns, such as those made from hemp and bamboo, or from exotic animals like the quiviot and vicuna, or from such unlikely things as pearls and milk! I also wanted to create garments for people who felt left out of mainstream society, such as cancer patients who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy and amputees or people born otherwise irregularly, so that they could feel more than simply protected from the elements, but also accepted and honored exactly as they are. I am fortunate to have been given an ability that provides happiness, and I wish I had the time to knit something nice for every person on earth!

Currently, my business is a one-woman show, and I work on my orders after my day-job (I am a Librarian at the County of Los Angeles Public Library). I intend to modify my schedule to allow for more production of my lineup, and so I am in the process of paring down the size of my collections while improving the quality of the pieces offered. I am continuing to research fibers and techniques for improving fit, as well as all the economic and psychological benefits of a well-curated wardrobe. As I learn, I will offer more options to my clients and share the joy of yarn with the world!
