The beginning of Takes2Stitches

Takes 2 Stitches produces baby and home quilting and embroidery products. The shop name comes from a shop my husband created when we feared he would be out of work, called Takes 2 Furniture. Many of the furniture pieces in our home, my husband and I created together. The name illustrates that it took both of us to get the job done. Takes 2 Furniture never sold a piece, and my husband never was out of work, but we have learned it does take 2, whether its to save a family from financial ruin, to raise children, earn a Master's degree, or simply to quilt a bib. Nothing is accomplished on our own, whether it is help from a spouse, a friend, or simple faith that God is with us always. It always takes, at least, 2. So the takes 2 name continues.

I've always loved working with fabric. I love to quilt, but I can't seem to find the time or patience as a stay at home mom to finish large quilting projects. So I started making bibs and small home projects, and stumbled into machine applique. I LOVE applique, as well as small quilting projects, because I get to play with the colors, patterns and textures of fabrics. I love to match up patterns that bring specific colors to the forefront of a design, and I particularly love the color and pattern variation in batik fabrics.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and browse my store!

I'm a stay at home mom who loves to be crafty. I mostly enjoy small quilting and embroidery projects that I can actually finish on a busy mom schedule! I'm a former orchestra teacher and still like to teach a few private lessons on the side.
