Thanks for this creation. I am not Roman Catholic so their communion sets wouldn't work (no chalice). I am not fully protestant so their communion sets wouldn't work (individual cups for grape juice). This was perfect and is great quality!

About

Tamarack Stoneware opened in July 2012.

After many years of creating pottery in my spare time, I have finally "retired" and opened my own studio. It's a wonderful place to play with clay. It has comfortable work space and plenty of storage. What's more, I can hear the birds and dogs and see deer, turkeys, and our garden as I work.

My work is both wheel thrown and hand built; sometimes it's thrown on the wheel and then altered by hand. I especially like textured surfaces and create them by impressing designs using all sorts of found objects or by carving designs. Some of the textures are made using clay stamps that I have made over the years. On some of my pieces, I create figures in press molds and then attach them to the surface of the clay to create designs.

It's important to me that my work be attractive while also being well-designed for use. I pay attention to how spouts work, handles provide grip, and lids fit. I like to make pieces that "speak", that have a personality, and ones that bring a smile or even a chuckle. I also enjoy making pottery with a nature theme, letting the beauty that surrounds me flow back into my work.

My customers are important to me so I work hard to please them and to provide good service. My reviews reflect the good customer service and fast shipping that I provide.

There are a number of social and environmental issues that are important to me and that influence my clay work and my work processes. I reclaim and reuse my clay scraps and work to minimize impacts of waste glaze. I rinse brushes and containers used for glazes in a bucket of water before washing them in the sink, which has a sediment trap. The sludge from the rinse bucket is periodically fired for disposal as a chunk of glass. The environment around the studio is wonderfully pristine and that's the way I want to keep it.
