About

FUNctional Objects for Everyday Life

Here at Tanner Glass, we believe in making things that are FUNctional. From bud vases to magnets, we want our goods to be used, not stashed away in a cupboard.

I started Tanner Glass over 14 years ago with a line of handblown glass bud vases, bottlestoppers and oil candles. Over the years, the line has evolved, and now includes some mixed media goods. We source Vintage maps, atlases and sheet music, as well as handmade Japanese Chiyogami papers to create our popular magnets and paperweights.

But our line continues to grow from it's roots of Handblown Glass.

It's a constant challenge to design and make FUNctional Objects, but we love it!

All of our work is handmade in Rhode Island.

Q: What is a FUNctional Object?

A: An object that is fun and practical to own.

Tanner Glass began in 1998 with a line of handblown glass goods- vases, bottlestoppers, ornaments and oil candles. Over the years, we've strayed a bit from our glassblowing roots and now focus on a line of glass/mixed media pieces that have quickly become our most popular items. While most of the work we do is focused on magnets, keychains and paperweights, we still get in the glass studio and will continue to keep some of our blown glass here, too!
