About

TattooAnnie's Beginnings...

I've been making things since I was small...my mom is a crafting genius and I learned so much from her as a child. (I still do!) She also gave me a beading kit for my 10th birthday, which started my obsession with making jewelry. Through middle and high school I concentrated on beaded and hemp necklaces...I gave them to pretty much everyone I knew back then! I was just happy to see people wearing and enjoying my creations. During my college years I got into punk rock and all the DIY fashion that came with the territory. I improved my sewing skills, started using more vintage and recycled materials, and really learned how to improvise when crafting. All along I was working hard to improve my techniques and the quality of my items. In 2003 some artsy friends convinced me to set up a table at a Gallery Night event and Tattoo Annie was born! I had never sold my items to the public and I was really nervous, but each show my jewelry got better and so did my business. Then I started selling my line at a day spa with an attached shop that sold natural and organic products. I even started doing commissioned pieces for my customers. My good luck continued when I was accepted to the second Art vs. Craft show. I have participated in each one since, and loved every minute of it!

All of my life, I've made things for the simple joy of creating something beautiful, a little piece of art to take everywhere with me. I never thought one day I'd be growing a business from it. I'm really grateful to all my customers...its such a huge compliment when they take a piece home with them!

My influences are diverse...hippy/granola style from my mom, a bit of punk edge from my years on the scene, some retro/vintage glam picked up at thrift stores, and the cute/creepy combo that comes from a deep affection for Japanese style and design. I think I make a little something for everyone!

Accepted payment methods

  • Accepts Etsy gift cards
Payment
I accept Paypal payment, and you can also pay with a credit card through Etsy. If there are any problems with the payment process, please let me know ASAP. Payment must be received within 7 days of purchase. During that 7 days I make three attempts to contact the buyer before I leave appropriate feedback and cancel the transaction.

If you like an item but don't have the funds to purchase it right away, I'll be happy to reserve the item for you until you are able to. Just convo me (before purchase!) and we can work out the details!
Shipping
I usually ship within 48 hours of receiving payment. Within the United States I ship USPS First Class with Tracking, which generally takes 3-7 days to arrive. For heavier items, like thick scarves, I ship Priority Mail, which is slightly faster. Unfortunately, I can't provide Delivery Confirmation for international orders, but I can provide a copy of the post office receipt to show when the package was sent.

If your Paypal and Etsy addresses do not match, I ship to the address provided by Etsy.

Most items are shipped securely in a bubble mailer sealed with tape. I always provide plenty of padding and a waterproof layer to protect your items from the elements. In the case of larger items of multi-item orders, I occasionally use recycled cardboard boxes.
Refunds and Exchanges
I strive to make the best quality items possible, and to describe them accurately in my listings. If you have questions about construction, materials, measurements, etc., please ask before purchase. If there are any problems with the item once it arrives, I will do everything in my power to make it right! However, I cannot be responsible if a buyer does not read the item description or simply changes their mind. Returns, refunds, and exchanges are handled on a case by case basis, if there is an issue please contact me and I will find a solution that both of us will be happy with. :)
Additional policies and FAQs
I am a convo-friendly seller, so feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you may have! However, this is not an open invitation for spam ;)

I'm always open to trades with other sellers! I'm especially interested in soap and other B&B products, yarn, jewelry supplies, art prints, and anything kawaii, Japanese, or geeky!

All items are made and packaged in a smoke-free home. I share my home with a lovely kitty, though she is kept away from my craft supplies as much as possible. If you have pet allergies you may need to wash knit items before wearing them just in case.

If you prefer different styles of clasp or earwire, I'd be happy to change them for no charge as long as they're the same type of metal. Let me know if you'd like an upgrade to sterling silver findings for a small fee. If a necklace is a bit short, I can easily add a 2-inch extender chain to make it adjustable, also at no charge. I'm happy to customize any of my items!
