Art Saves Lives.
I served in Iraq as a combat medic from 2004-2006. After returning, I was hospitalized on several occasions for treatment of post traumatic stress disorder. It was during one of of these stays in a veteran's hospital that my psychiatrist told me I "needed to get a hobby or I would surely kill myself and or someone else."
I learned the art of metalsmithing as a way to busy my hands and my mind. I feel a sense of peace, pride, and accomplishment when transforming metals into wearable art.
I use .925 and .999 silver because they are the highest quality of silver and will stand the test of time. I incorporate gemstones, rough stones and other natural elements in my designs. I use recycled silver whenever possible because I believe in being eco friendly.
In 2011 I opened The Silver Crow on Etsy as a way to reach potential customers. In 2014 I changed the name of my business to reflect my last name. Taylor Metal Designs was the result of that change.
I AM A BELIEVER THAT ART SAVES LIVES!
IT SAVED MINE.
