Girl Plays for a living
Sometimes one’s destiny is clear early on: I was born for color. I was schooled in classrooms (College of Arts and Crafts; Wayne State University – ceramics; Oakland’s Crucible – glass bead making), and I was schooled in my mother’s amazing world of wreath-making, decoupage, glass painting… and feathery shoes! I became interested in design in high school, and became an artist in those years, working as a seamstress, shawl maker, quilter. I’ve shown my work in galleries from Detroit to Denver to Stockton. My own creativity takes wing with clay, fibers, jewelry, paint, beads. Forever the visual artist, I feel that now I have integrated my life experience with art and design into my work with glass: Magic! Every colorful creation, filled with light and whimsy, is an adventure of its own. My studio was converted by my most generous sweetie from a Tea House that he built in our back yard thus the name for my business became Tea House Glass. I work to bring that inner vision to the world, to share the magic.
