I have owned an interior design business for 30 plus years and have helped thousands of satisfied clients, making their homes beautiful one room at a time! In 2010, I saw a beginning quilting class advertised at a local shop and I signed up to rekindle my passion for sewing that had taken a back seat during my career. I was immediately bitten by the quilting bug after sewing the first two blocks in the class! I couldn't wait for the next week to come around so I could sew some more. From that point on, I have made quilts, bags, table runners, clothing, more quilts, charity quilts, donation quilts, etc. I love putting fabrics, colors and prints together. I often find fabrics that don't necessarily match but that blend together in a pleasing arrangement.
I believe that there is no ugly fabric because an ugly fabric, combined with the right combination of colors and patterns, can become a beautiful quilt! I hate to throw out scraps and have a nice assortment of strips and squares that are readily available to be sewn into a quilt. I have several friends who donate their scraps to me and I will sort through them, file away and eventually use them!
I am also retired from the US Air Force Reserve, have spent 20 years on active duty and in the reserve! I'm looking forward to my third career as a quilt shop owner and teacher!
