About Tea Time Fabric Panels
Tea Time Fabric Panels wants to make it possible for home sewers to make designer quality outfits for their 18” and 14.5" dolls and have fun doing it! We also wanted the step by step illustrated sewing instructions to be clear and easy to follow…easy enough to use for teaching girls to sew, which we encourage our buyers to do. Sewing is a lifelong skill and if it can be taught in a fun way, like making doll clothes for a favorite doll, then girls will enjoy learning to sew. We post pictures of them and their finished outfits on our facebook page, to show them we are proud of their accomplishment.
The process of developing a new fashion for Tea Time Fabric Panels takes months. We work on patterns, fit, instructions and the beautiful fabric prints that are our signature on every design. We create unique doll clothing panels with original patterns and digitally printed designs in the correct body proportions for your 18" and 14.5" Dolls. Digital printing allows for more colors and features than conventional printing. Our attention to detail is apparent in every doll clothes panel we produce, making them well worth the price and time it takes to cut and sew for your favorite 18” or 14.5" doll. Our Kits are made in the USA.
Each unique designer panel comes as a "Kit" with the necessary sewing notions to complete each style. A booklet of step by step illustrated sewing instructions is included that features a photo of a popular 18" or 14.5" doll wearing the finished outfit on the cover and a larger view inside the booklet. These booklets also give you pattern adjustments for several other popular 18" dolls to ensure a good fit...as well as adjustments for the 14.5" kits to fit 14" dolls too.
Now home sewers can enjoy sewing doll clothes even more, knowing that the designer doll fashions created by Tea Time Fabric Panels will look and fit their favorite 18" and 14.5" dolls beautifully!
Our Design Experience
Designing doll clothes kits allows us to combine all of our skills, talents, and experience, with our love for doing something creative and beneficial for our customers!
Patricia Rosa and I (Lynn Rayve), both graduated from The Fashion Institute of Technology where we majored in fashion design. Our friendship began while working at The Simplicity Pattern Company, where I wrote the instructions for home sewing patterns and Patricia illustrated them. This special training prepared us to write and illustrate our own easy sewing instructions for our doll clothes “Kits”.
Patricia’s career led her to design sportswear, sweaters, crafts and quilts. Her love of fabric prints inspired her to continue her education at the New York School of Design for textile design. She uses her creativity to design prints for quilting and now for 18” and 14.5" dolls. Her skills also include digital design, using computer programs such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. These skills as well as her textile and fashion design talent prepared Pat for designing our lovely doll clothes panels.
I designed children's clothing and doll costumes throughout my career. My skills include pattern making and fitting, as well as design. I have created private label designs for children’s clothing for Macy's, Sears, Target, and other large chain stores, for many years. However, costuming for one-of-a-kind doll artists, and designing for The Alexander Doll Company (Madame Alexander Dolls) were particular favorites, as was designing one yard fabric panels for Marcus Bros. Fabric Co.
These design opportunities gave me experience in designing children’s clothing, doll clothes and fabric panels, which prepared me for designing doll clothes panels as well.
Happy Sewing!
