We are facing new postal rates. As of January 18, 2026 Ground Advantage will increase by 7.8%. Priority mail by 6.6%, Parcel Select at 6%, and Priority Mail Express at 5.1%. Further specialized increases of 8% have been announced for April 26, 2026.

All the items in my temperature-controlled warehouse are carefully packed, ready for shipping. This means I can usually ship same day. December shipping is always a challenge, as I mail so many gifts that need to arrive before Christmas. This year, the USPS has announced these cutoff dates: USPS Ground Advantage service (2-5 business days): Dec. 18. First-Class Mail service (1–5 business days): Dec. 18. Priority Mail service (1-3 business days): Dec. 19. Priority Mail Express service (1-2 day delivery): Dec. 21. Notice this does NOT mean the USPS guarantees arrival times. The other carriers have their own dates.

You should know that upon checkout, Etsy indicates that you may choose your shipping method. However, that does not apply to FREE SHIPPING items in this shop. I estimate the cost of shipping for each listing before publishing it. Whenever possible, I post packages the fastest way. But, in the case of some listings, preparing fragile pieces safely for shipping will take plenty of high quality packing material. The only affordable way to ship large, heavy packages is via FedEx Ground. . I get the commercial rate on FedEx shipping, but Etsy doesn't have a shipping profile for it. So for an example: even if it looks like you'll be receiving USPS Priority shipping upon checkout, you may actually receive FedEx Ground shipping.

This store is smoke-free. It is also pet-free, but I can't guarantee a dog hair won't make it into packaging. (The two dogs aren't allowed in the house, but do live in the garage. Some of their hair does get tracked inside sometimes. Sigh.).

There are No Returns or Exchanges. Because of the cost of doing business on Etsy, I can only keep the shop open for a few months out of the year. In most cases, I have one of each of the items I advertise in my shop. There simply is not enough time for me to wait for up to 30 days for a return in order to re-advertise the item. If you have questions about the quality of the items I sell, or the extent I go to in order to have items arrive safely once shipped, please see my reviews.

As of December 2021, I have moved to Oklahoma! The name of the shop will remain the same because Etsy does not allow name changes for shops (except once, which I've already done). But please note that shipping will now come from "The Sooner State".

I also will not have time to pursue claims from the mail carriers for items buyers purchase. This is because it can take at least a month to get a damage claim completed. (Some will not allow a claim to be filed for at least two weeks after the shipment was received). But if requested, I will send you copies of any paperwork you need in order to file a claim.

Did you know that if you follow a link from a search engine, such as Google, to an item in my store--or any Etsy store--the shop owner has to pay 26% in commission and fees to Etsy for any item you buy for 30 days? This is because Etsy financially penalizes its shop owners for advertising on off-site search engines. (Etsy shop owners are not given a choice as to whether or not their items are advertised off-site). It's another reason I can only afford to stay open a few months out of the year.

The way around this is to carefully note the title of the item you see when you conduct your search, but do NOT click on the link. Instead, open up Etsy.com on your browser and enter that item description name in the Etsy site search engine. When the desired item comes up, click on it and you'll be taken to the item in the Etsy shop. The shop owner will not be charged the extra percentage when you go through checkout.

ABOUT SHIPPING:

Please join me in contacting your state's representatives to say NO to shipping rate increases.

I do not ship outside of the continental United States. This is because Etsy charges sellers commission not on the item price alone, but on price + shipping. Since shipping for international destinations requires more packing materials, and is more costly, the price adds up quickly. I can't afford the commission on international shipping.

If, however, you use a shipping center in the USA, I can ship there.

I used to always ship fragile items USPS Priority mail with tracking, but I can no longer afford to do that with Free Shipping. I send almost everything Ground Advantage class now, except for very large and/or heavy items. Large and/or heavy items I will ship through FedEx. I feel like they do a better job of handling fragile items and can reliably get them to their destination unbroken. Plus, their rates for large and/or heavy items are about half of what the USPS charges.
Etsy gets a commercial rate with all the carriers, which for Etsy customers, automatically insures your package for up to $100.00. I pay for extra insurance for anything over $100.00.

Whenever possible, I will combine shipping. I am not interested in making money on shipping; I will charge you the least amount possible, but I will ensure your fragile items are in the right size box with plenty of packing materials.

A word about combining shipping: did you know the USPS always rounds weight up to the nearest pound? This means if your package weighs 2 pounds 4 ounces, the USPS charges as if it weighed 3 pounds. For example, let's say you buy one item from my shop which weighs 2 pounds 4 ounces, and another which weighs 3 pounds 1 ounce. Separately, without combined shipping, you would pay shipping on the first one at 3 pounds and on the second one, 4 pounds, for a total of 7 pounds. But, with combined shipping, together, their combined weight is 5 pounds 5 ounces. So if I combine the two weights, together they would ship at 6 pounds. Depending on distance and package size, that pound can add up to quite a savings for you.

I look items over very carefully before listing them. My eyesight is good, and I don't miss much. And, whenever I can, I offer items that are in "as new" condition. Usually, these are items that have never been used, have always been on display, were only used once, etc. But I wish to state that "vintage" does not mean "new". Even items in "excellent condition" may have manufacturer's flaws, such as flecks of gold or hand-painted color where it should't be. If you want to buy or collect only perfect pieces, you may be disappointed if you buy my "vintage" items.

I should also state that I do not post exact measurements. All measurements are to no more than an eighth of an inch precision, and even they are approximate.
