How I got into the sign making business!
Hi, I’m Ginger! I grew up an artist and homemaker being taught by my mother how to draw, paint, cook, bake, sew, and create home decor. My parents built my childhood home so I learned the value of hard work and creating beautiful things with my hands.
I learned the sign making trade right out of high school and worked for commercial sign and trade show display companies making custom graphics on a large scale.
In 2006 I opened my first sign shop on Etsy that I sold to my friend and partner in 2014. In 2010 I opened StudioGdesigns on Etsy selling party printables, wedding invites and rubber stamps.
While I love designing, I really enjoy making the actual products and wanted to bring them to life in the farmhouse style. I wanted to create signs that shared my faith in God, uplifted and inspired, and brought a smile to your face.
My hubby Joe is my favorite handy man and biggest support! He’s encouraged and helped me every step from computer tech to endless trips to the lumber store and cutting and routing wood and dropping off packages. I couldn’t do this without him! He loves working with his hands and gives me lots of good feedback!
In December 2016 I launched Teal Barn Signs! It has been so much fun and a ton of work! Customer satisfaction is my priority so I put a lot of love and care into making sure every detail on each sign is my best work before I ship it.
We have 4 amazing children. A son and daughter who are US Marines and 2 younger daughters who help me with household chores and business tasks when needed.
Our dream is that we can move to the country and have a real barn and hobby farm and create a place for family to come home for the holidays and vacations!
