I am designing and producing innovative storage and display options for the mobile devices which are flooding into your home. You can access email, search Google, and stream video from any room of your home. But where do you keep the electronic gadgets when you need to put it down, and where do you keep the array of accessories - charging cords, wireless keypads, headphones, mouse, etc.:

Because mobile devices are used in the living room, bed room, dining room, and den, I am making storage devices which can fit into any of these settings. I am drawing on traditional craft principles - form follows function, practical construction techniques, quality goods made for a lifetime of use, and of course aesthetic appeal.

I am ready to make short runs of the Table Top Tech Tamer from my 1200 square foot basement shop. The standard unit will be offered in 3 wood species (oak, maple, and pine) with 3 finishes offered for each species, so that the unit can fit into various decors. I will also be making some special pieces with more character. These will appear on Etsy from time to time as interesting materials and ideas present themselves.

Additional units are also being developed. I am sketching designs for a desk organizer, end table, TV stand, and a night table. Please keep an eye on my sight if you are interested in a more dynamic solution for integrating mobile technology into your household.

All of my products are made by me, my friends, and family, from native woods.

Thanks again for looking over my work.

My original designs were created to meet the needs of my family and friends. I like to solve problems and create simple solutions to new issues. By the time I offer an item for sale, it has gone through several generations and been tested a number of times.

For instance Table Top Tech Tamer started as a very large stand that held remote controls, laptops, cell phones, coffee cups, pencils, magazines, and anything else that might land on a coffee table. The original design was build around a drawer which held a power strip and allowed easy access to that end of the power cords.

Daily use showed that this design was too cumbersome to route cords through. And too inflexible to allow for constant changes and additions to our mobile computing needs.

After giving it considerable thought and reflecting on the insights of the Toa Te Ching, I made a much simpler design for testing. It was very similar to the design currently offered for sale but feed back from friends and family inspired a number of important changes - angle of bottom was refined, additional space added along front edge, pierced the bottom slats to allow for better access to cords, and opened the bottom of the back so more power strips could be accommodated.

Once the design was finalized, I built a number of fabrication and assembly jigs which allow me to securely clamp the angled pieces while cutting and building the units. Now I am ready to create short runs of 20 - 25 units at a time.

More designs are underway. They won't be as flexible as the Table Top Tech Tamer but each will offer certain advantages for different settings. I am currently sketching and/or testing...desk organizer, book shelf, end table, night stand, and a TV stand. Each of these will hold multiple electronic devices and offer improved storage for accessories and peripherals
