I've been crocheting since I was , about, 12 years old. My mother learned me the craft, and also my grandmother was a great crocheter! I still use her crochetneedle with some yarns. (Grandma was born in 1899)
I alway wanted to sell my items. Because I love to make different things, but what to do with it then?
To have a physical store is not an option. I make things as a hobby, and don't want the pressure of making things on demand or making it more than once. So every design has it's own appearance. all handmade by me, by my own design. (In a smoke-and pet free environment)

That's why I sell things on Etsy, since 2007. And boy, what a fun it has been so far, to have fans of my work worldwide....My first sales were on October 17th 2007 to Malaysia, Germany, France, US an Australia. All in one day. I was delighted….

I take the yarn colours that speak to met at that moment or season, choose a doll where I want to crochet for, and then I start. All designs (and patterns) I have made myself. I make them as soon as I have a doll for the measurements. Sometimes I have a design in mind, and sometimes it comes to life when I am crocheting. It is like drawing a picture, adding and changing as I go along. The smaller the doll, the thinner the yarn and needle. Sometimes it is a bit of a struggle to make teenyweeny, fiddely parts of a design.

There has also been an interest in my patterns, which I wrote out in Dutch (because I am from the Netherlands) UK an US Terminology. The UK and US Versions were a bit of an ordeal, because the terminology of, both english, are different. I addded pictures to clarify some stages of the pattern and they proved to be very succesful. People love them!

I used to send everything like a letter, neatly packed in a bubble envelope, or sometimes in a postbox sized box, so I could keep the shipping costs as low as possible. Unfortunately this has changed in 2020, due to Worldwide regulations. so the shipping (for items send flat in an envelope) went up quite a bit.
That is out of my hands.
