About

Desire for good quality clothing leads to life long sewing hobby.

Sewing is my lifelong hobby! I grew up near Detroit, Michigan in the 1950s, hence the name Telegraph Road. I started sewing at 13 years old, and made most of my own clothing (most people did back then). Later, I became frustrated with poor quality clothing available for my children and started sewing their clothing. As the years have gone by, I've sewed quilts, doll clothes, aprons, baby car seat covers, pajamas, costumes, pretty much anything you can imagine. I've made curtains, reupholstered furniture, etc. After my children were grown, I started to sew for friends, acquaintances, bazaars and consignment stores. People have recommended that I start selling Telegraph Road items on Etsy, so my daughters opened up my shop this past summer.

All items are handmade by Sue.

The Etsy shop is ran by Sarah, Sue's oldest daughter.

I started sewing at 13 years old. First I made my own clothes, and then my children's clothing, and now the Grandkids. I am always on the look out for unique good quality fabric that inspires my next project.

I started sewing as a young teenager growing up in Detroit, Michigan. In Michigan, Telegraph Road is a major north–south state highway that runs through Metro Detroit, hence the name of my sewing label and Etsy shop.

My sewing goal has always been top quality workmanship, trendy and sturdy fabric, with attention to detail. Most recently I have been selling Telegraph Road items on Etsy, the local Silver Star Bazaar and Trendz Consigment shop in Brookings, South Dakota.

All my fabric is prewashed with 'Free&Gentle' Tide, machine dried on low temp, with a few exceptions, such as felt and delicate fabrics. These items will have special laundering instructions.
