About

The best place to work--in the world!!

My name is Teresa and I launched Teresa’s Ceramics back in 1992 because I am in love with the art of ceramics. It all started back when I was a little tot, fingers seeking out mud and building sandcastles for hours. I took the fine art of baking mud pies and brought it to a whole other level! Flash forward to present day and I still get a thrill when I can plunge my hands into the mud, though now I am a bit more refined in the final products.

I believe in creating exceptional pieces of ceramic art for your home, office, and garden and utilizing a unique color palette to inspire whimsy and a sense of fun. Over the past twenty-five years I have had the opportunity to hone my skills and offer a wide variety of ceramic décor, yard art, and ceramic gifts. While I have many offerings in my storefront, my vintage Christmas trees are my best-sellers because they inspire a sense of nostalgia. No matter which ceramic piece you fall in love with, you are guaranteed a handmade product featuring a perfectionists’ touch.

I start with molds that are made of plaster and a type of clay (slip) that is liquid.
The clay is poured into these molds and once set, the piece is carefully removed and all seam lines are meticulously removed. The piece is then fired in my kiln for hours and once cool the real fun begins: Painting! I use acrylic paints and a dry brushing technique to create textured pieces with depth and rich color. I feel by shading colors and combining hues you can be treated to a more realistic piece. The final product is always expertly sealed to ensure that they stay bright and will last for many years to come. In fact, this finishing touch makes the pieces in my
shop able to be placed outdoors (in mild weather) and will protect them from fading.

I know that I am lucky to be able to spend my adulthood playing in the mud, and I want to thank you for bringing this little girls wildest dreams to life. It is because of your patronage and business that I can continue to create.

I started taking ceramics classes in 1990 when my kids were very young ( a mom has to escape sometimes!) I quickly became hooked :0 so much so that I had to start selling my pieces so that I could afford to buy more :)
