Tessie Burrell

You're so weird!

A phrase that has followed Tessie her entire life.

A haunting, harsh, and discriminating phrase at first. But what may seem "weird" to some, is very often valued and cherished by others. Tessie realized her "weirdness" was her gift. To be able to see beauty in the unusual, function in the discarded, and delight in the objects around her.

It is with this history, this appreciation that Tessie made the decision to share her delight with you, the seeker.

Tessies Old Oddities is a collection of colorful, playful, and at times disfunctional items that have called to Tessie. She loves the hunt for stray vintage treasures and the history behind them. She may play and repurpose an item in an effort to give them new life. She may tidy them up and present them to you in the hopes that you can see the beauty and purpose in them that she does. She always tries to present with respect to their history, and offer a bit of that to you as well.

On these pages may you find color, laughter, and just the right something to add to your life, your closet, or to bring joy to anothers.

An Egyptian friend told me they don't throw away old things. Clothing with holes in it allows the former owners to enter and advise you. If he misses his grandfather he puts on some of his old clothes and feels comforted. I love that thought.

Hello, and welcome to Tessies.

Tessie Burrell is a character I have created that has all my best characteristics and so much more. She is worldly, refined, and educated. She is street savvy as well as cultured. She is a patron of the arts as well as an artist herself. Witty, wise, beautiful and sought after. She is a great success in all aspects of life.

I have never thought to let her know she was named after my first dog. A terrier mix w/ a bad temper.

I myself enjoy bringing you her stories, as well as hunting down the items I present here. Each item has a story, wether it involves the characters I encounter while hunting these treasures down, or the history of their reality.

Enjoy the journey through these pages, as I enjoy presenting them to you. I hope you find life as a playful trip and that some of my items may just be the thing you need to enhance the adventure.

Remember to play, laugh and enjoy the ride...bumps and all

I accept paypal. That's it for now.

But Paypal has many options.

If you are new to ETSY here is a helpful guide for your first purchase!

Using Paypal as a guest to pay with a credit cart

Paypal payment is preferred.
It is not necessary to have an account with Paypal in order for them to process a credit or debit card transaction. Please be aware that if you are using e-checks through Paypal your items will not ship until the e-check has cleared, usually 4-5 business days, which will delay the receipt of your purchase.
I use priority mail for most of my domestic shipping. Priority mail is faster, offers tracking, and is insured.

I will ship internationally. I ship USPS first class for most international items. At this level there is no tracking or insurance. I can upgrade, but be prepared to pay the difference. Customers are liable to pay any import or customs fees. That being said, if you have a specific handler (i.e. DHL, FEDEX,) I will work with you on that. It may require a few convos, but we will get it done. In doing so, I will use the shipping method you desire.
Refunds and Exchanges
All items are sold in an "as is " condition. I will call out any issue I am aware of. However vintage clothing is more often than not a USED item, not in mint condition.

I will occasionally accept returns if the details are worked out in advance. If you are purchasing shoes I will often make the sale, let you try them on , and if they don't work I will refund the cost of the item upon receipt and inspection of item.
Refunds are determined by the items return condition. I will not pay return postage.

I will offer a layaway option for items over $100. Contaact me for details.

Fabrics are delicate and have a finite lifespan depending on treatment and storage. I consider clothing a final purchase and will not accept returns. I will do my best to work w/ the buyer and resolve any post purchase issue.
Look closely at the photos. Ask for detailed photos if need be. Ask questions before purchase.

With all of the above being stated, I work to assure a satisfied customer. Contact me w/any questions. I am eager to assist you.
