I got my start in metalwork at a young age. As a child, I would make a great nuisance of myself at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Old Town Alexandria where my mother worked. I liked to watch the jewelers in particular, engrossed and fascinated by their fine work and the beautiful objects they produced. When I grew older I began to trade sweeping and cleaning services for the chance to watch more closely and learn the skills myself. At 16, I was hired by Michael Schwartz of Creative Metalworks in Kensington, M.D, where I learned the art of conservation and restoration as well as a wide range of other metalworking techniques.

However, rarely do life paths move in a straight line. After graduating from college, I left the art world for tech and became a software engineer. Nearly 8 years of tech career later, I made the shift back into art and have only recently found myself in a position to set up shop and begin working in metal again. I hope you enjoy the results of my work as much as I enjoy the work itself!
