Announcement   Hi and Welcome to the shop!
Teton Metals is all about crafting easy to wear jewelry that reflects the details of an outdoor lifestyle. My work is inspired from the textures, shapes and sometimes really wild elements we have here in the amazing Teton mountain range. One theme you may notice throughout the shop is contrast and texture, joining the two make for unique and interesting combinations. As hard as I may try, no two pieces are exactly the same, so you get a one of a kind creation that is handcrafted by me in my workshop.

If you have any questions about my work, feel free to send me a message and I'll get right back to you.****please take note that on the weekends we like to go adventuring to places that take us out of cell phone range, so I return messages as soon as possible**** If you would like to stay updated on new product, you can follow Teton Metals on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/tetonmetals/

About

Metalsmithing Mom finally settles down....sort of

Hey there! I'm Alyssa Beck; There are a few things I really love in life, and that's being a mom of one cool little dude, being a wife to one hilarious big dude, traveling, puttering around the outdoors and hammering away in my workshop making easy to wear silver jewelry that is inspired by an outdoor lifestyle.
My goal is pretty straight forward, and that is to make unique jewelry that's easy to wear in a variety of settings. Simple, timeless and effortless jewelry that can be dressed up or down.
I must say, it has been a fun and winding road that has brought me to this endeavor of opening a shop for my metal work, so if you're interested, here's a little story as to how I got here.
After leaving my hometown in Louisiana in the mid 90’s with beads and jewelry supplies in tow, I landed in Asheville, NC. There, I was introduced to the idea of Craft schools, and knew then that I wanted to learn silversmithing. To test the waters, I took a course at John C. Campbell Folk School and was totally hooked, but there was still some bouncing around the country that had to be done. So, as any free spirited, 21 year old would do, I lived out of my sometimes trusty VW Vanagon for a while, temporarily “settling” in a variety of towns (Albuquerque, for Massage school, Boulder, CO for more silversmithing, Fayetteville, AR, New Orleans, back to NC to attend Penland School of Crafts, Victor, ID, back to Boulder for more School…well, you get the idea.) While I continued to take metalsmithing classes, I had high hopes of finding a place that felt like home so I could really learn my craft. After wandering the West for a while, I found Jackson, WY in 2000 and have been in the area ever since (with the occasional skipping over to a few different countries, my ultimate faves being New Zealand and Iceland, so gorgeous!). The Teton Mountain range is an amazing and perpetually inspiring place to call base camp and I have been fortunate enough to build a humble work space and create the jewelry that I love.
My work is, of course all hand made by me, and are one of a kind pieces, no two are exactly alike. The most common theme you may find throughout my work is contrast, making them versatile and easy to wear every day. In some way, every piece is inspired by nature, whether it be the shape, the texture or color combination with other metals or enamels. So please feel free to check it out and see for yourself, and if you have any questions, send me a message and I'll get right back to you. Please keep in mind that our weekend wanderings take us out of cell range often, so I return messages when we get back to civilization (thanks for your patience).
