My future father-in-law is gonna love this wine glass. It's a health size too!

About

Our passion turned into a business

My husband and I started etching by using chemical cream in August of 2012 mainly for friends and family and finally a local craft fair that produced over 100 sales.
Our first attempts were frustrating but I figured out a way to get a nice professional finish with the chemicals but we still weren't satisfied. The chemicals are messy, dangerous, and also time consuming in order to get a nice finish.
We started researching the best ways to etch. We looked at other chemicals, we looked at laser etching and finally sandblasting and realized that if we wanted a true, etched finish that is professional in every way we would have to sandblast. My husband researched the available cabinets, compressors, and parts and we took the plunge.
While I work making all the stencils, and admittedly come up with 95% of the ideas, my husband packs, ships and answers emails. We make a great team.
Our sales in our first month were decent but that's because my husband does the marketing and had learned how to market on Etsy from our first shop where I sold hair bows and tutus, and finally started selling mostly supplies for these items. Since he learned how to market one shop he was able to efficiently market this site. Our online sales here on Etsy and other sites we use have exploded and we have since opened a "brick and mortar" store in our area. While my husband still works part time as a nurse at a prison we still spend every one of his off days at the store. We may not be wearing the glass slipper yet but we do have a Cinderella story in the making. We have been married 29 years and still love being together all the time. It is our wish that our two Etsy shops and our store will make that dream come true and maybe the next chapter of this story will have him leaving his regular job so that we can concentrate all of our efforts on our store.

We are a husband wife team that turned a dream into reality. We have 3 shops on Etsy. This shop, a tutu supply shop(prettiesonparade) and another glass shop (gretchensetchins). We love spending time together and work our shop full time from home.
