Amazing necklace! Fascinating to hold up to the light and striking to wear--I've had many, many compliments. I've bought several items from ThatOldBlueHouse2 and everything has been unique, beautifully made, and well-packed for shipping. Very highly recommended.

About

That Old Blue House Jewelry

Growing up in Connecticut, I was always making something. Maybe it was the fact I was an only child, and my parents wanted to keep me busy. At the time my father owned a photo finishing studio and I loved going to work with him. It was an old building and I remember exploring the upstairs, which hadn't been used for years. The fear of walking past cob webs, and the excitement of finding left behind treasures in the old desks, may just have been the spark that started my love of old things.

I took a Stained Glass class over 20 years ago, at a cute neighborhood gift shop by day, and art school in the evening. After purchasing all the supplies, I continued making Stained Glass suncatchers and window pieces for family & friends. Through the years my work has evolved. I began incorporating quilt pieces and lace (a few of my favorite things) into my Stained Glass windows. Since I love vintage paper, fiber, film and whatnots, I began to combine these vintage findings with my Stained Glass craft.

Now I mainly create jewelry items, with a few suncatchers thrown in. I enjoy the immediate gratification I achieve from creating a piece of jewelry vs. the time it takes to create a window piece. It also allows me to spend time at my favorite pastimes - strolling through antique malls, attending auctions, rummaging through thrift shops, to find pieces to use in my jewelry!

Thanks to Etsy I have been able to share my craft with a worldwide audience.
