lovely fairy doll, with cute face, pretty hair and dress, and she even came in a little leaf bed/envelope. Really special.

About

Behind the Accordion Door

I learned to crochet and sew as a child from my super talented mother and my amazing grandmother.

In my grandmother's dark and stuffy basement was a large closet with an old accordion sliding door...and behind that magic door were shelves and shelves of jars full of buttons, beads, pipe-cleaners, and every other crafting supply you could imagine. These cherished supplies were always available to us for being endlessly crafty. I grew up with the hum of a sewing machine constant in the background, and the sound of shears biting through fabric is still one of my favorite sounds.

When I became a mom myself, I returned to sewing and crochet as a way to make special dolls and play things for my little daughter. Now I have 3 children and have made more dolls and stuffed animals than I can count.

My love for creating has only grown, and this little shop is a dream. I want to share my love of handmade with others, and I have spent hours, days, weeks and months perfecting each doll design until they are just right. I put love and care into every stitch of each design, knowing that a little person might someday soon be receiving this as a gift, and I live for the joy and happiness a handmade doll creates.
