"S" if for Story!

Welcome! Hi, I'm Kim, proud mother, wife and entrepreneur.

I know you're busy, so here's some quick info on me:
LOVES - My family (nuclear and extended…it's huge!), ice cream, movies, crafting, making lists, reading, doodling, being a total goofball with my boys and, of course, teaching my son new and interesting educational tidbits.

Which brings me to my question:
What do Vincent Van Gogh, rattlesnakes and pine wood floors have in common?

They are all topics of conversations I have had with my son…before he could talk. My husband repeatedly asks me how I come up with this stuff. Aside from me being a little ridiculous, I tell him that I just see educational opportunities everywhere. Why not talk about them? Especially when, during the work week, I only have a couple hours with my kiddo while he's awake - I want to make the most of it!
I am sure that you do, too. Whether you are a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle or other caretaker, you want the children you cherish to enjoy their time with you and learn something, creating a meaningful memory.

This universal goal is what led me to create The Artful Educator. With an experiential background in graphic design and a passion for education, I created our first educational art product, The Artful Alphabet™. The goal: add an educational and aesthetically eye-catching element to everyday items (plates, blankets, rugs, etc.) that will inspire conversations about geography, the animal kingdom, science, art, literature, etc. without any prior research. Just use the items like you would everyday and the educational opportunities will present themselves! You can view our products here to see what I mean.

- The (limited) time we have with our children should be valuable, meaningful and fun for all involved.
- Educational opportunities are everywhere (sometimes we need help finding them).
Whether you have five minutes or an entire day to entertain, it's your creativity and imagination that will discover awesome learning moments and transform them into meaningful and memorable experiences with the children in your life.

If you do need or want a little help with educational info, search our blog for alphabet-based activities! We also have our "Top 5 List", a bimonthly email that sends five themed, fun and easy-to-implement ideas to help you educate and connect with your kids in new ways.

YOU CAN educate your children at every opportunity, engage them and strengthen their foundation for future learning, whether you only have five minutes or a full day to entertain. So, let’s get started!

Thank you for reading and happy learning to you and yours!
