Cute, Bold, & Crafty: The Awkward Giraffe wants you to feel special with cute and unique handmade items.

Hi there! My name is Mari and I'm creator of The Awkward Giraffe. I started this shop after years of making fleece hats as gifts for friends and family. The joy my creations gave to others inspired me to open my own shop.

The name “The Awkward Giraffe” comes from my nickname in high school. Much like the lovely giraffe, I was very tall and slightly awkward. Giraffes and many other animals are the main inspiration for everything I make. I like to personify their cuteness in my unique designs.

Cute is my mantra and I hope to inject as much of it as I can into the items I create. Pastel color schemes, glitter, and sweets are my current obsessions that help me achieve the cute vibe.

Art has been a passion of mine for my whole life. My other hobbies include drawing, cooking, cosplaying and writing.

Returns and exchanges
I gladly accept returns, exchanges, and cancellations
Contact me within: 14 days of delivery
Ship items back within: 30 days of delivery
Request a cancellation within: 24 hours of purchase
The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
  • Custom or personalized orders
  • Perishable products (like food or flowers)
  • Digital downloads
  • Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)

Please if you have any problems with your order.
If you are not satisfied with your purchase you can return or exchange your item by notifying me within 2 weeks of receiving it. The item must be in its original condition. It is the buyer’s responsibility to pay for return shipping.

Returns will be refunded in full once the item is received, minus the return shipping cost.

Custom order sales are final and cannot be returned.
I accept PayPal payments as well as credit card payments through Etsy’s direct checkout system.

I ship with USPS. In stock items will be shipped 1 – 5 business days after purchase. Custom/made to order items ship within 2 weeks of purchase unless stated otherwise. Delivery time depends on the type of shipping chosen at checkout. Tracking is included and you will receive it via a shipping notice.

If an item is damaged during the shipping process please notify me within a week of receiving it with pictures of the damage. The damaged item can be sent back to me and replaced with a new item or a full refund can be issued.

If your item gets lost in the mail I can send you a new one free of charge or issue a full refund.

I use USPS First Class International Service. In stock items will be shipped 1 – 5 business days after purchase. Custom/made to order items ship within 2 weeks of purchase unless stated otherwise. Delivery time varies by destination and can take up to 3 weeks. Delivery time may take longer during certain holiday periods.

The buyer is responsible for any for any fees, taxes, and duties associated with shipping and purchasing to their respective countries.

☆ Custom Orders ☆
Custom orders are welcome! Please contact me to discuss a custom order.

I will calculate a price based on the complexity of your request and let you know how long it will take to complete. I also provide a colored sketch of the final design and will send progress pictures as I create your custom item. I take payments before starting on custom orders. Custom orders are final and cannot be returned.

☆ Hat, Plush, and Pouch Care ☆
To clean your hat or pouch, hand wash in cool water and detergent, then press water out and dry flat. You can also spot clean your hat or pouch with soap and cool water.

Spot clean plushies with soap and cool water.

☆ Work Environment ☆
All of my crafts are made in a non-smoking home.

Do you use wool in any of your products?

No. The fleece and felt I use are synthetic.

What is your work environment like?

All of my products are made in a smoke free home. However, I do live with one cat. She isn't in my craft area a lot and I try to lint roll all orders before shipping them out.
