Welcome and thank you for taking the time to look over my work! Each piece is handmade by myself with style, durability, and craftsmanship in mind. I do my best to make sure each piece is the best it can be. I have been making synthetic dreads and hair pieces for over five years, and am very well versed in a number of styles. I have been crafting and selling jewelry off and on for two years. I take pride in my work, and sincerely hope my customers like it! It really does mean a lot to me, and I take it seriously.

Payment
At this time I am accepting Paypal only. Although not new to the online business world, I am fairly new to Etsy.com and wish to proceed slowly until I get my feet wet. If you absolutely cannot pay through Paypal for whatever reason, but are still interested in a piece, message me here or through theblackabbey [!at] gmail.com and I will do my best to accommodate.

Please let me know what item it is that you are interested in and your reason for wanting to change payment methods.

Items will not be shipped until payment is received and has cleared. Items that have not been payed for after 7 business days without a message to me stating why will be returned to stock and available for public purchase.
Shipping
SHIPPING METHODS:
In order to keep shipping costs down, I try to send everything USPS first class mail. If you need delivery confirmation or tracking, I can add this at an additional $3.00. I typically do not include them so that you do not have to be present to sign for packages.

I typically use recycled materials to package and ship my items. They are wrapped up with love and care to insure they arrive safely, but I try to be environmentally conscious when shipping.

PAYMENT = SHIPPED:
Items will NOT BE SHIPPED until payment is received in full and has cleared into my account. Once paid in full, I will ship the item within the week of purchase, or by the following week if purchased Thursday through Sunday. I try my best to alert everyone the day their package has shipped. If you have any questions or concerns about your items, feel free to message me.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING:
At this time my shop is set up to ship to the US and the UK. If you are in a different country and would like to purchase something, message me and I can get you a shipping quote. I simply do not have the capability of adding each country to every listing.
Refunds and Exchanges
REFUNDS:
Since most of my items are one of a kind, handmade, and described as accurately as possible, refunds will generally NOT be given unless something has ARRIVED defective or CLEARLY not as described. To be eligible for refund, you must contact me within the week you receive the item.

Otherwise all items are sold AS IS and it is up to the buyer to be attentive to shop and item specifications. That said, I try to make everyone happy, so if you have an issue not covered here please message me and I will see what I can do to help.

EXCHANGES:
Again, since many of my items are one of a kind, exchanges for the same type of piece may be difficult. In the event an error has occurred on my end, or an item ARRIVES clearly defective, I can certainly exchange it for an item of equal value.

In the event of either a refund or an exchange, I am not responsible for returned shipping. NO custom orders can be returned unless they arrive clearly not as described.
Additional policies and FAQs
DREADS:
As of the moment, I am not open for custom dread orders. Keep an eye out for a few pre-made sets. I also have my alchemy option off for now. If you are seriously interested in ordering a custom piece of jewelry, message or email me and I will see if I am able to accommodate.

JEWELRY:
My jewelry is of good quality and is designed for heavy wear. That said, it is not indestructible. Be diligent about caring for your pieces, do not tug, pull, or otherwise abuse them and they should last a good long while. Since many of the components are made from costume jewelry and unconventional materials, be aware of what you use to clean them with. Treat them as you would other costume jewelry pieces.

At this time, The Black Abbey does not participate in wholesale orders or trades. I am, however, open to vending at live events with enough notice in advance if you are in the Central Florida area.

All items come from a smoke free home. Two retired greyhounds reside at The Black Abbey. They are usually a pretty hypoallergenic breed, but take this into account when ordering items.
