About TheBlessedBohemian

Passion with Purpose

For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by fiber & textiles. I think it all began with creating pot holders on a loom as a small child. I moved on to hand sewing small scraps of fabric together to make doll clothes & accessories as soon as I was allowed to handle a needle. It wasn’t long before I took over my mother’s sewing machine & began to sew clothes for myself.
I’ve tried my hand at embroidery, cross stitch & other projects. I have also spent many a late night sewing costumes. Numerous times over the years, I have attempted to learn to crochet & knit. Being left-handed seemed to hamper my attempts. I’ve never really mastered the art of knitting, but recently discovered I enjoy crocheting. It has become my “happy place” & I rarely leave home without yarn & a hook.
I have been married to my high school sweetheart for over 30 years & have 2 beautiful daughters & a furry girl named Star. My oldest daughter has inherited my passion for fiber & textile arts while my youngest daughter has developed a vast knowledge of herbs, spices & teas. She & I are co-owners of a small, organic, loose leaf business, Blessed Rebel Company.
Despite chronic health concerns, I have been blessed to be able to continue doing something I love. I believe strongly in blessing others & am excited to be able to help support other women by purchasing many of my fibers, textiles & sari silk skirts through a women owned co-op. Ladies in India & Nepal are able to support themselves, their families & their communites while creating beautiful things from manufacture scraps & recycled sari fabrics.
I’d like to think I’m blessing the world one stitch at a time!

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders

All skirt orders are considered custom or personalized due to the fact that they are handmade & one-of-a-kind. The use of reclaimed, recycled & repurposed materials in many of my creations makes it difficult to guarantee the exact colors requested. Please know that I will do my best to honor all requests.
