The Beginning and Evolution of My Etsy Experience
I started up my Etsy store after I lost everything I had in the housing bubble catastrophe. I was a single Mom at the time and we lost our home, our car, bank accounts and decent credit score as well. With nothing more than the clothes on our backs and a few small boxes of personal belongings, we started over from scratch.
I began TheBluScarab as a small handmade soap business, though it grew quickly to encompass some of my other loves, such as vintage items and handmade jewelry.
I honestly do not know how I would have made it through that very dark time, if not for discovering the joy of selling on Etsy and a few very loyal friends and family who carried me through one of the roughest patches in my life.
Today I am trying to focus more on Egyptian vintage items, since they are so beautifully hand crafted and exquisitely unique. I have also rekindled another passion of mine, photography! At some point I hope to open an Etsy shop dedicated exclusively to sharing my altered photography with the world, once I figure out the best medium to accomplish this.
In the meantime, I hope you enjoy perusing through the ecclectic and varied items featured throughout my store and find something truly special that resonates with you as each piece, hand picked and handmade, does for me!

Welcome to my Etsy shop! All items are hand picked and/or handmade by me. I am also the photographer for all items in my shop, as well as creative writer, graphics designer and director.

Payment
Refunds and Exchanges
If for any reason you are not pleased with your item, please email me straight away (within 2 days of receiving the item) to let me know. I may be able to give a refund, depending on the problem or reason.
The buyer will be responsible for the postage costs incurred in the return of the item(s) to me.
Please post returns in the original packaging and obtain proof of posting for any items returned.
Custom orders are not eligible for a refund, unless it is found to be damaged, faulty or very different from the design agreed upon.
In the case of an item being damaged on arrival, please take a photo of the damage and contact me as soon as possible and I will happily replace the item or give a refund.
