Turned out great. A bit delayed in shipping but that was due to illness which the owner contacted me to explain. I appreciated that.

About

primitive decoration: it's a family affair.

In the spring of 1979, Tami (mom) married and moved to a little blue house by Towanda Creek. Down the mountain her father would drive in the early morning-- forty-five minutes to see his oldest daughter. "Such a long drive makes a man hungry," he would say, so Tami would always have breakfast ready for her old man when he came to visit.

Tami's house was blue. Her new last name was Longenecker. She always had food at the ready. And so her new home earned the nickname "The Blue Goose Restaurant."

Thirty-three years later, Tami's daughter Amanda married and moved into a little blue house of her own along the beautiful Susquehanna River. And like clockwork every three weeks her dad comes to visit, his nose sniffing for fresh-baked goodies as he walks through the door.

So when mother and daughter put their heads together to come up with a name for their new shop, The Blue Goose was the obvious choice. Because at The Blue Goose Shop, it's a family affair.

On any given day you just might find...

Grandma Norma stitching in her rocking chair, while Pop Pop tinkers on his tractor in the barn.

Mom Tami selecting fabrics, cutting and sewing them into a beautiful quilt with her skilled and loving hands.

Daughter Amanda in her kitchen, carefully tea staining a piece of muslin before sewing it into a one-of-a-kind primitive pillow.

We are a mother-daughter duo, working together to create the items for sale at The Blue Goose, with inspiration taken from our respective home states of Idaho and Pennsylvania. We both love primitives, sewing, and crafting in general.

Give Grandma Norma a new pattern, and before you know it, she'll be stitching up a storm. Her daughters and granddaughters treasure her beautiful works of love, and if you are lucky, she just might stitch you something, too.
