There were a lot of forks available on ETSY but I needed 2, at a good value, so I was excited to come across this pair. They arrived very quickly and they're really nice... A gift for someone who loves pie and I think they will enjoy them

About

a fun little shop run by three blondes

The Bottle Blonde got it's start and inspiration from Deanna's photography series based on the rural setting of our hometown. Influenced heavily by the work of Sally Mann, she photographed neighbors and friends using traditional black and white film medium refusing to give in to the digital revolution. We opened shop selling her art and small vintage finds from the Mid Atlantic area.

Then something remarkable happened in the summer of 2014 that would inevitably change our focus. While searching through boxes at an estate sale, I found a box of old silverplate heavy with tarnish. I loved the distinct patterns and the sense of elegance from a time when fancy dinners required several different types of spoons at a setting. With no definite intentions I bought all of it, brought it home, and soon forgot them.

One day when moving some of my father's belongings I came across an old anvil he had made in the 70's. Klaus, the skilled welder, metal smith, and self taught artist had spent his life working with his hands; but after suffering a stroke and diagnosis of Parkinson's had lost all dexterity. Feeling the unfairness of his suffering and mourning his loss, I looked to that old anvil for some solace.

With dad's anvil, some second hand stamps, and determination, I set to work on that shabby silverplate creating what I like to call 'silverplate poetry'. What started as a form of therapy has turned into the stamped vintage flatware you'll find here.

It is our hope that in this world of mass produced, over advertised; you choose to shop small and give with sincerity.
