Like most great ideas, the Bottle Wrench came out of a problem.

Being tired of having to use the wife’s wine bottle opener to crack a cold one the decision was made to come up with something tougher, stronger, and manlier. A few hours (and drinks) later, the original Bottle Wrench was born.

Soon after I made the first Wrench, people started asking about my new opener and wanted to know where they could get their own. We opened our online shop in 2011 and have been growing ever since.

It’s easy to say that opening the shop has changed my life. I’ve never been more proud of the work that I’m doing. I enjoy everything from the constant Twitter/Facebook updates, to the bookkeeping and everything in between. I also love all of the friends that I’ve made thanks to the Bottle Wrench (from Fred at ABlindCat (Etsy Shop) to the Deen Brothers from Food Network).

These days, I try spend as much time in the Shop as possible where I form every Bottle Wrench by hand. I might get blazing hot in the Summer and cold in the Winter, but there are few places in the world I would rather be.
